EP600 Subwoofer


Epic movies need an epic tone and the EP600 is more than a subwoofer it's air moving at the speed of an epic-center. Not just for rumbling the house it's moving the foundation - yet, so perfect and precise with music. This is a piece of furniture that delivers accurate and seamless low frequency information that will have you looking down at your seating position thinking you felt a tremor. Powerful subwoofer that can handle anything thrown at it. I have not tested to see if indeed it is indestructible, But I have noticed that it indeed cannot be overdriven as I have turned it up and at one point it just does not respond anymore to the added volume. Granted the volume it was outputting was already significant. But if the manufacturer says its indestructible..well... You have to try! This subwoofer would get 5 stars if it had a more solid cabinet and the port chuffing was eliminated when played at low frequencies.

The EP-600 is everything I wanted in a subwoofer. It fills my 7000 cu ft space with clean quality bass. I love this sub for both HT and music. I have had several subs in the last couple of years including the Velodyne DD-18 (my previous favorite). The EP-600 is now the sub all others will be measured against.

Just thought I'll let you know after 2 evenings of fiddling with the subwoofer setup, and using an AVIA disc, I was able to mate the EP-600 with the m80tis, and the rest of the system beautifully. Boy, can this subwoofer go down low.... phew! Crank it up as high as your ears can handle it with any good movies or music with good tracks and you might think I have a full fledged theatre in the house without any signs of distortion in the sound. Awesome! I have yet to put some good DVD-Audios to use.

Have had the EP600 for a couple of weeks now and works great. Having a typical California house, the floor is 12" of pre stressed concrete, and one of my projects has been replacing carpet with a marble flloor. Also have an 8' Cal Spa in the solarium, which is a large part ot the listening area. Last night after finishing up adding the second set of M80's, put some tunes on and relaxed in the spa, with the system runing at about 94db, the EP600 was causing ripples on the water, and the spa has a surround of 12" x 12" granite tile, so its rather solid. Also noticed my two cats were having a reaction to the vibration in the concrete floor, so ya, the sub does have a lot of power.

I have been Really Wow'ed with my Axiom EP 500 v.2's brute output power, finesse, articulation and musical accuracy!!! It fills my 5300cf home theater room with cement slab shaking, visceral impact bass that extends well beyond audibility, never seeming strained or peaked, always well controlled and fast, while maintaining superb low bass tonality that is always musical...I'm impressed (so are my neighbors, hehe)!!!

Just returned from a business trip to find the EP500 waiting for me. I was rather amazed that the *GIANT* 80-pound box made it half way across the country without a scratch on it... but the unit was securely packaged and is working just fine.

In fact, it works so well that my wife and I both stood mouths open (not kidding!) as it shook the rafters and window glass in our house. Amazing! Love that palpable, tight bass. More testimony to follow after I've had a chance to get the sub completely dialed in....

The 500 came right on time and I'm extremely pleased with its performance.

The sub is just what I expected, loud and deep without the booming or hum like my old sub. The surrounds have opened up the effects from my DVD's that I always knew were there but couldn't hear. My new problem is what to do about the center and front speakers. But that's why the M60's and the VP150 are on my Christmas list.

It is installed. Already the music sounds more filling...just the opposite of lite beer.

The sitar which doesn't really reach low/loud bass...sounds fuller and the undertones of the drone make it more like reality. With effective power balancing the bass is confirmed and its presence goes without too much emphasis!!!

I have received the EP500 and although I still need to perform some more set up and calibration, I am impressed with it's sound and features (this is the first speaker I have owned with a USB port :-) Overall, I am VERY pleased with the way my system is sounding. It is so clean that I find that I need to occasionally monitor my levels with my SPL meter so as not to damage my hearing from listening too loud. Thanks,

I cannot believe the difference in both music and movies since getting the EP500.  My bass repsonse is so smooth, yet very deep.  I was happy with my sub from a "larger" manufactuer but the EP500 is no comparison.  I thought at first "great I'll do a 2 sub setup", but why?  The EP500 takes care of it all and with the gain at only 1/4 - 1/3 the way up in a very open room.

The EP 500 rocks, I am still tweaking but I think I found the sweet spot, but when I was crawling around on the floor with scotch tape the other night my wife told me I needed a hobby, I said, What do you think this is?

One of my buddy came over last night that runs dual Sunfire Subs in his system and he was ashamed after sitting on my couch while I was playing a little R&B with some great bass in it for him.

I received my new Axiom EP500, and well, it absolutely has surpassed my highest expectations.    The new sub handles the reference material without hesitation and delivers bass that is frankly "scary".  My home theater is now the shining star I had hoped it would be.  Your speakers are nothing short of amazing in all aspects.  My cd collection is being re-discovered due to the M60's, and the rest of the system makes Star Wars and other reference DVD's sound better than any movie theater could.

More importantly, is the level of service I have received from each of you.  From my initial e-mails w/Brent prior to purchase, through the placement of the 500, all three of you have been world class.  Both Brent and Alan have provided excellent technical information to asset me as well as very warm and hospitable attitudes.  Noreen has been wonderful in her consistent communication during shipments.

As someone who works for a company that strives to be "the best" in customer service in the technology industry, your fine company is certainly a "Best Practice" for any company wanting to do it right.  Thanks again to each of you for your great product, and OUTSTANDING service.

EP350 - Subwoofer


The EP350 subwoofer had finally been set and "calibrated" accordingly to your advises posted in monthly Axiom Newsletters. To test the setup of the EP350 with my M80 speakers I wanted to play Camille Saint-Saens"Organ Symphony" but opted for a superb Sony/BMG recording "Great Organ Classics" instead. This CD is a must for organ music lovers.

WARNING !!! Do not play loud this CD with EP350 switched on before securing the china and all breakable items on shelves in your room. Your house will vibrate !!!

The enormous and mighty sound of the King of all instruments was brilliantly reproduced by the EP350 with unbelieving clarity and power. I was lucky to be only by myself at this time and played this recording quite loud. I felt the deep "pedal tones" in my stomach the same way as when I heard live organ concerts in many cathedrals while living in Europe. The organ was right here... in my living room!

Next I played the soundtrack CD from the film "1492: Conquest of Paradise". This beautifull CD is full of deep notes and in fact I used Track #12 to find the best spot for my EP350. Yes Alan, I crawled too to find THE spot. Again the EP350 had no trouble to "produce" deep, clean, and house-shacking bass. What a difference to the sound of cheep, carton-like boomy pseudo-subwoofers.

I have discovered what a difference makes a very good subwoofer like the EP350 to enjoy the full spectrum of well recordered CDs. Now I do not miss the "BOTTOM" of my favourite music. Before, listening to the music without a subwoofer was like having a dinner without the dessert or worst...a romance without a partner.

Once again Alan, my very Thank You for your advise on choosing the right subwoofer for my music preferencies. Listening to my CDs will never be the same.

Well, the EP350 arrived today and it is absolutely incredible. I have no idea what the EP500 would have done - this thing fills the room with wonderful, commanding bass. Starting out with Alan Parson's "Games People Play" when the drums kick in is fantastic. Then, my wife is a Lord of the Rings fan so we watched the 2nd one and could actually FEEL the flapping wings on the whatever-was-flying-around thingies. Amazing.

Well I've managed to get everything connected last weekend. All I can say is that the quality of what I now hear, is only surpassed by the *ear to ear* smile on my face at each listening experience. Not to mention the visually appealing fit the loudspeakers now display in my newly renovated salon. BTW I've succesfully managed to locate my sub, where the bass response of the EP350 in my near 4000 cu. feet vaulted salon, is outstanding. No need for two of these puppies. And I've just listened to stereophonic CD and radio aired material so far. Needless to say I am a happy camper.

EP175 Subwoofer

I set up the M22ti's and the EP175 in my billiard room last night. These speakers replaced some ancient EPI speakers I bought about 25 years ago.

The sound is incredibly improved. I had to hook up the subwoofer on the high level inputs since my amp is an early model A/V amp with with no sub-woofer output. First played some of Dave Grusin's "Cinemagic" CD (some deeply orchestrated movie themes), and played with the placement, crossover, levels, etc.

My son and I then settled in to watch several DVD concerts, simply in awe of the sound. My wife was stopped in her tracks at the impact (Peter Gabriel at the time), and sat down with us for the rest of the concert.

Clearly, I am very pleased with the purchase. Even the analog cable TV (also on this system) sounds great.Thanks,

I spent a few months without a sub and am now wondering why I ever waited so long before buying the EP175. Initially, I was considering going with another company for the sub. I narrowed it down to three competitors. At first I wanted a downward or floor-firing sub; though it was the EP175’s musical proficiency that sealed the deal. All the floor-firing subs had a lag, or delay if you prefer, on all music. Nothing will hurt a musician’s or music enthusiast’s ear more that hearing a bass riff or for that matter a drummer’s double-base run sound sloppy and uneven. It should also be mentioned that the EP175 does a fantastic job in any movie as well. Deep tight bass = EP175.

I just wanted to let you know that so far my system sounds great. These last two speakers will complete my rear surrounds. All other speakers and my sub are also Axiom. I just can't say enough about your products (to anyone who will listen to me by the way).
I've always used high quality electronics, but it wasn't until I upgraded my loudspeakers to Axiom that I realized what I've been missing in my music and movies. I don't know if I should tell you this because I don't want you to raise your prices, but my system sounds better than my friend's setup using Polk speakers that cost him about $1000 USD more than mine (we are both using identical electronics and brand).

EP125 Subwoofer
 


I was really impressed by the sound quality of the EP125. When we were listening to music, it really warmed up the sound without making it muddy. I let the customer hear his in-wall speakers with and without the sub, and he was happy that he invested in the EP125. During the installation of his screen and projector, he commented at least 5 times about how clear, incredible, amazing, etc. that the music was. I will definitely recommend Axiom to anybody looking for a sub.

I had a pair of M22s for about 2 years and recently upgraded to M60s from the FO. In between I had purchased a pair of M50s. Loved them all and wished I could have kept all 3 pair. First, customer service--In my role as director of training & QC for a huge commercial construction company, I am probably "extreme" when it comes to what I expect in customer service. I preach this every day to our employees and I expect it but usually don't receive it wherever I go. Not with Axiom Audio. Once again, you receive a 10/10 for focusing on the needs and issues of your customers. You worked with me, told me to keep the 50s until my 60s were ready from the FO and answered all my questions pertaining to whether or not I should even get the 60s over the 50s. You once again modeled the behaviors that I am challenging our employees to model. You're in business to sell product and make money. But your mi!
ssion is to have happy owners who love their speakers!! We do!! What can I say about the 60s that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing. I sit in wonderment sometimes that I get as excited over a set of speakers as I do over the 60s. But I do!!! and so does my wife. And she really doesn't even care. Or at least didn't until we got our first pair of Axioms when we got the M22s. Ya'll are great and your product is exceptional!! I've waited a couple weeks before sending any feedback to formulate an opinion about my new Axiom speaker system. At this point, I think it's fair to share with Axiom and their prospective customers not only my opinion about Axiom loudspeakers, but also my opinion about the complete Axiom experience.

I decided to investigate Axiom speakers after reading many favorable reviews. I first visited Axiom's website and was pleased to discover that it was a well organized professionally designed web page. Much better than many of your competitors. The web page was so easy to use and full of information I felt comfortable enough with Axiom to take advantage of their 30 day guarantee.

While I was placing my order on line for the Axiom M80ti, M40ti and VP150 I was pleasantly surprised to see a home theatre discount applied to my order.
Automatically getting a discount from a company when I've already made the decision to buy tells me that they are not only interested in the immediate purchase, but rather obtaining a customer for life. Quite a service testimony about the company you've chosen to do business with.

After completing my order on-line, I was concerned about the shipping of my order because I was going on vacation. I placed a call to Axiom and asked about their shipping policy. Once again I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Axiom ships their products FedEx second day air. I asked for my order to be shipped on a specific date and my request was met with no difficulties.

I received my order after returning from vacation on the day promised. At this point, Axiom continued to impress me with their packaging. The speakers are double boxed with generous amounts of packaging material to prevent any possible damage.

After connecting my speaker system, I was anxious to hear how they compared to my Magnepan 1.4s. The Axiom M80ti speakers surprised me with what I call their "soundstage presence", filling the entire room full of music instead of hearing sound coming from boxes. This is a characteristic of the Magnepans I enjoyed so much. This is a tribute to the mid and high range capabilities of the M80tis. I'm also impressed with the quality of low and mid bass, especially since it's being delivered from two 6.5 inch cones. In fact, I turned off my sub to listen to the M80ti bass and depending on the audio track, I notice little bass improvement with having the sub on. To keep it short, the M80tis do so many things well, I don't feel justified in wasting my listening time trying to uncover short falls. They are such a bargain, I almost wish Axiom offered larger more expensive speakers. Be sure and offer me a trade in program once they're developed!

Just to let you know that the shipment arrived late yesterday afternoon. (3 days from Canada to Africa and then 5 days to get to me from Johannesburg---600 miles! That's Africa for you)
