This system is custom-configured for discerning listeners who demand the cleanest deep bass on the market. It's for people in their own homes only, though - otherwise the soundwaves could rattle your downstairs neighbor's dishes! The Axiom Epic 60 / 600 system adds state-of-the-art deep-bass performance to the M60s by combining the new Epicenter EP600 v2 DSP 600-watt subwoofer with the larger five-driver VP150 v2 center channel. Ideal for rooms of 2,500 cu. ft. to 7,000 cu ft. with vaulted ceilings, “great rooms” and dedicated home theaters. The Epic 60 / 600 provides subsonic bass output as low as 12 Hz along with greater dialog intelligibility for larger rooms and greater listening distances. Additionally, listeners who expect loud, clean, and powerful playback levels of rock, rap, and classical bass, orchestral bass drum, pipe organ, and thrilling DVD movie playback will find it with this system. And the M60 v2 main towers are 8 ohms, so large good-quality A/V receivers will easily drive them.
The Epicenter EP600 v2 subwoofer achieves ultra-low bass with none of the uneven performance of conventional subs. The Axiom custom-programmed Intelligent DSP “algorithm” controls every frequency from 15 Hz to 100 Hz, maintaining a smooth, flat response within 1.5 dB across the range. That means you'll hear undistorted, profoundly deep rumbles all the way to 12 Hz or even deeper in typical rooms. And the sophisticated DSP chip inside prevents the EP500 v2 from ever being overdriven into distortion.
The M60 v2 main towers that anchor the system achieve wide dynamic range and excellent, clean, high-volume performance with an airy, spacious soundstage and neutral, high-accuracy music reproduction. At an attractive 37-inch height, the M60 v2 features dual 6.5-inch aluminum-cone woofers, a dedicated 5.25-inch midrange, and a one-inch titanium-dome tweeter. The QS8 v2 quadpolar surrounds, with four drivers each, deliver an astonishing sense of envelopment in the ambient soundfield with movies or music. The VP150 v2 center's five drivers have exceptional power handling and wide dispersion for fine dialog intelligibility and a seamless front soundstage. Coupled with the EP600 v2 sub, the system will deliver realistic, high-volume multi-channel surround sound with music or movie soundtracks. |
