The ultimate performance package: you will never go to the theater again. If you're looking for speakers so transparent and neutral that they literally disappear into the action, then the Axiom Epic 80/600 system is for you. It mates the new Epicenter EP600 no-compromise DSP 600-watt subwoofer with the flagship Epic 80 system to redefine the phrase "high fidelity." This system is ideal for home theater addicts who want spectacularly deep subwoofer bass to 15 Hz and below, playing powerful bass frequencies at very loud levels in really big rooms. AudioRevolution's Brian Kahn raved: "They have the sonic chops to reproduce sound that keeps up in quality with your high-definition picture. They are that good and, for the price, they are a steal."
The Epicenter EP600 subwoofer achieves ultra-low bass with none of the uneven performance of conventional subs. The Axiom custom-programmed Intelligent DSP “algorithm” controls every frequency from 16 Hz to 100 Hz, maintaining a smooth, flat response within 1.5 dB across the range. That means you'll hear undistorted, profoundly deep rumbles all the way to 13 Hz or even deeper in typical rooms. And the sophisticated DSP chip inside prevents the EP600 from ever being overdriven into distortion.
Very large family rooms, lofts, or “great rooms” with vaulted ceilings —8000 cu. ft or more -- are all suitable candidates for the Epic 80/600 system. The 39.5-inch-tall M80 main towers, with six drivers, including dual 6.5-inch woofers, dual 5.25-inch midranges and dual tweeters, achieve high dynamic range and excellent, clean, high-volume performance with an airy, spacious soundstage and neutral, high-accuracy music reproduction. The VP150 center's five drivers have exceptional power handling and wide dispersion for fine dialog intelligibility and a seamless front soundstage. Coupled with the EP600 sub, the Epic 80 will handle hundreds of watts per channel with music or movie soundtracks. The QS8 quadpolar surrounds, with four drivers each, deliver an astonishing sense of envelopment in the ambient surround soundfield with movies or music.
(Note: the M80 tower's impedance is 4 ohms. Big rooms call for a separate power amplifier for the M80 towers. An A/V receiver rated to drive 4-ohm loads without overheating or shutting down is recommended. Call Axiom for recommended receivers or amplifiers that will drive the 4-ohm M80s.)

"...seriously good performance for the money... I'd wager that once you get these speakers home you won't be sending them back".-- Al Griffin, Sound & Vision

"For a high-end, high value system , look no further than the Axiom Epic 80. I can't say enough good things about the Axiom Epic 80 system -- it does so many things well with so few compromises. This system does not require a lot of amplifier power to deliver gut-wrenching, room-filling sound."
-- Vince Hanada, HomeTheaterSound

"This system rocks! Whatever DVD we tested on this system it consistently played clean, with tons of detail at all volumes. Want to crank up the volume? These speakers can handle it and can be played at dangerously high listening levels with no audible distortion. Some of the shotgun firing scenes from T2 (Terminator 2) sounded so real, your neighbors will be calling the cops."

"What surprises me is the ability of the system to provide stunning ambient surround information at the same time it provides directional pans and effects. With the Epic 80, if you invite your friends over to listen to a well-produced DVD, you may just be able to charge admission !"

"I simply cannot believe that this level of performance is obtainable at this price."
-- Ray Adkins, Audioholics

". . . we would not change a thing; they are that great . Because Axiom offers the Epic 80 home theater system at such a value, anyone can have audiophile quality speakers that rival more expensive brands."
-- Ian Bell, www.digitaltrends.com

"While listening, I suspected that this system had to be a great set of speakers at nearly twice the price. It performed very well on the music side and even more impressively on the home theater side. There are many more expensive brand names out there that do not perform nearly as well and could cost you twice as much. If you're looking for an audiophile-grade speaker system without the audiophile price tag, you should definitely give this system a listen."

Customer Comments Customer CommentsBelow are a few of the many reviews that our customers have been kind enough to send us.
My wife and I just finished watching the third Lord of the Rings.
The 7.2 set up was mindblowing!
The subwoofer shook the building. Local nightclubs were calling, asking us to turn it down, they couldn't hear their music! ;-)
And the extra two rear surrounds gave the total surround I was hoping for.
The guys who installed the new equipment were blown away with it, and they're hard to impress. All they do is install equipment, and they couldn't believe the sound.
Very, very cool.
-- Dr. Ken E., QC CA

I just got the system all put together and I am very impressed....words do not describe my excitement! This system is hands down the best sound I have ever heard. Still tuning it in for the room, but right out of the box it is amazing. My Emotiva DMR-1 loves these speakers. Thank you for your assistance and advice - the EP500 was definitely the right choice.

Just wanted to thank you for taking time to answer my questions about the DVD player, and to thank Axiom for every part of my experience, from the initial conversation with the sales people, to the shipping. These are as beautiful as they looked on the internet. I am completely happy with the Epic 80's and everyone is impressed with the QS8 v2's. From all the reviews I expected them to handle high levels, but I am just amazed at the sensitivity and how clear the Epic 80's sound at very low volumes.
Also, the web site should get an award as the best designed site on the web. http://www.axiomaudio.com is just presented beautifully with just the right amount of information and help I needed to | |
