I was seeking a pair of speakers for my den, and I have to admit that I am a novice in the field of picking out suitable speakers. My first response was to visit Circuit City and Best Brands to secure some knowledge and suggestions, and my experience convince me that their young sales people knew less than I did. Next, I visited the "high brow" stereo stores and I found their sales people were cold and indifferent.

Searching the Internet for some advice, I came across the Axiom website. I search all the audio magazine articles and consumer reviews, and became interested in the M40's. I spoke many times with the Axiom technical people and they were always informative and showed patience in responding to my many questions.

Taking the plunge, I ordered the M40's tower speakers which I had never even heard. I received the M40's five days after I ordered them, and all I can say is WOW! These speakers surpass all expectations that I had for them. They are a delight to listen to the clarity of the sound, and there is plenty of bass in the background. For those of you that might have any hesitation in purchasing speakers without even hearing them beforehand, you will not be disappointed in dealing with Axiom. "As for the mighty M60s themselves, I'm thrilled with their performance thus far! They've replaced a pair of PSB Image 4Ts, which I still highly enjoy, however the M60s are surely a more competant pair of speakers for music, and I belive music is a taller order for a speaker than home-theatre use. "I received my pair of Axiom Millennia M80 Ti loudspeakers several weeks ago and was immediately impressed by the physical construction of them. A solid almost seamless enclosure, I say enclosure because while anyone can build a speaker box, at Axiom, their unique "Anti Standing Wave" design truly sets them apart. They contained the most state of the art dual 6.5" and 5.25" pure aluminum drivers, dual 1" titanium tweeters and finished off with gold plated connection terminal posts for the best possible signal transfer. The fit and finish of these speakers makes other companies pale by comparison.

While still in awe of the physical aspects of these units, I proceeded to hook them up to my home theatre system. Once in place, (placement for these units is not at all difficult I found that 18" - 20" away from the wall worked very well) I found a few of my favorite movies and proceeded to give these speakers a run through the gambit over the next several days. As I watched and listened I was surprised (pleasantly) to find that I was hearing undertones and ambient sounds that were previously missed by my old loudspeakers. I was also surprised to discover that from the lowest to highest volumes I was unable to create any distortion or dead air hum. Axiom rates the M80Ti at 4 ohms, 400 Watts and 98 dB 1w/1m (in-room efficiency), I would think that these numbers are fairly accurate and I had no trouble driving them with the Rotel amps in my system. With these 400-watt beauties fully powered and set up, I pulled out my system test C.D. With bright, sharp and clean precision, the screaming guitar of Joe Satriani, the digital electronic grunge metal of White Zombie and some extreme sound effects came to existence within the walls of my living room. The M80Ti's sound is that of a balanced harmony. With all the highs, mids and bass complementing each other and working together to create a soundstage that is clean, crisp and clear. Not only do these loudspeakers sound great and look good, but also the R&D people at Axiom have seemingly mastered the dilemma of the phase shift as you move across the field of sound. (Move from left to right in front of the speaker system). The over all resolution and imaging of the M80Ti's is, in my opinion Unrivaled.

Having used and tested loudspeakers from many different companies Mission, Paradigm, PSB and Bose to name a few each of these companies has a loud speaker that will compare to the Axiom M80Ti. However if you do your research you will find as I have, (It only took me years) that for $1100.00 USD/ PAIR, the Axiom speaker Company has produced a top quality product for the audiophile, at a price that I can only call a great deal. "I purchased a pair of the Axiom Audio M2TI's and one of the VP50 center channel speakers and was immediately impressed. These under $300.00 (USD) speakers blow away the competition in the $300.00 to $500.00 price range. They have a realistic quality to them that others in this price category cannot compete with.

My CD collection runs the entire spectrum of music, from classical to rock & roll. While all sound great with the Axiom's, they really shine with jazz vocals. Legendary performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong and Shirley Horn appear to be live in my listening room with the Axioms.

I am so impressed with these speakers that I have decided to dump my B&W DM601's in favor of a pair of the M22TI's or the M40TI's. I have presently positioned the $430.00+ B&W's as my rear channel speakers. Incredibly they have been replaced as mains by my $240.00 dollar Axioms!

While these speakers excel with music, they are also outstanding with home theatre. Over the past few years I have listened to less and less music, and only watched movies about once per week. "I use the M22Tis as rear surround speakers for my home theatre system. The tonal quality emanating from these small speakers are quite deep, warm and with a larger sound stage that usually reproduce by floor standing speakers. The high is crystal clear with a smooth transparent feel to it without being bright or harsh. Amazingly, these ] little puppies can crank out some very low but rich frequency, again very smooth. I listen to music more than ever before, jazz, standards, classical... And for vocals, they are unbelievably realistic for I can hear smoothness that the voices carry in all octaves. The sound is very enveloping and transparent that filled my sizable listening room, 22' x 20' with 12' high vaulted ceiling.

"Want the moviegoer experience in your living room? This is it period. I have heard surrounds from Paradigm, B&W, Klipsh, Energy, etc. Though I will admit that speaker selection is arbitrary, I have never heard a surround that is as enveloping as the QS8. Additionally, many state that should you want to do DVD Audio you must buy/have direct radiating surrounds –not so. If anything, I have found that the QS8’s do a fantastic job of musical reproduction as well. I will be the first to admit that this took me back.
