L'Epicenter EP500 est le premier caisson de basse de cette dimension à pouvoir réellement produire des graves abyssales de 20 Hz dans un environnement anéchoïque. Comment est-ce possible? Grâce à la technologie XLF, bien sûr! L'unité XLF (un processeur numérique) permet au EP500 de produire des graves profondes spectaculaires, à des fréquences aussi basses que 18 Hz dans une pièce d'écoute!
Bien que l'on entende tous les jours des fabricants prétendre atteindre la marque des 19 Hz, cette caractéristique technique est habituellement mesurée dans un environnement non réaliste (comme un placard!).
Vous prévoyez utiliser votre caisson de basse dans une vraie pièce d'écoute? Le EP500 produit des basses ultra profondes sans que sa performance ne soit affectée par la présence d'aspérités (crêtes et creux) dans l'écoulement sonore, typiques des caissons de basse classiques – la technologie XLF nous épargne ce désagrément. Les fréquences sont entièrement régularisées, sur toute la plage 15– 100 Hz, assurant une réponse fluide et linéaire ne déviant pas plus de 1,5 dB sur toute l'étendue des fréquences.
Cela signifie que vous allez entendre des grondements profonds et exempts de distorsion pour toutes les fréquences jusqu'à 18 Hz.
De plus, ce caisson de basse est indestructible. Le haut-parleur massif de 30 centimètres en aluminium du EP500 est jumelé à une bobine mobile double de 7,5 cm, et un amplificateur XLF de 500 watts donne vie à l'ensemble tout en régularisant l'écoulement sonore avec une grande précision. Ses algorithmes sont programmés pour assurer une performance optimale du caisson sans qu'il ne soit jamais surchargé. Et sa puissance maximale de sortie sans distorsion, de l'ordre de 120 dB, est supérieure à la puissance sonore d'un orchestre complet dans une salle de concert. Enfin, vous pouvez maintenant vous prévaloir du réalisme sonore d'une salle de cinéma avec votre propre système de cinéma maison!

I have been Really Wow'ed with my Axiom EP 500 v.2's brute output power, finesse, articulation and musical accuracy!!! It fills my 5300cf home theater room with cement-slab shaking, visceral-impact bass that extends well beyond audibility, never seeming strained or peaked, always well-controlled and fast, while maintaining superb low-bass tonality that is always musical...I'm impressed (so are my neighbors, hehe)!!!

The 500 came right on time and I'm extremely pleased with its performance. Interestingly, it replaces my 10 yr. old Paradigm PS 1000 which was recommended in the Cdn. publication "Sound and Vision" by Axiom's own Alan Lofft (I think it was Alan who wrote the review!). If the 500 gives me the same trouble-free pleasure that my Paradigm has given me over the years, I will, indeed, be very happy camper!

The EP 500 rocks, I am still tweaking but I think I found the sweet spot, but when I was crawling around on the floor with scotch tape the other night my wife told me I needed a hobby, I said, What do you think this is?
One of my buddy came over last night that runs dual Sunfire Subs in his system and he was ashamed after sitting on my couch while I was playing a little R&B with some great bass in it for him.
