Step 1: Check that you have all parts (see photo/illustration). The SLB is composed of three parts: 2 metal bracket pieces; 1 round plastic puck. 3 metal bolts; 3 nuts and 1 Allen wrench. |
Examine the three parts. Insert the round plastic puck into one of the metal bracket ends and holding it with your thumb and index finger, slide the remaining metal bracket end into the other bracket piece so you can see light through the center hole of the bracket and puck. |
Depending on how you want to mount the speaker and at what angle, the bracket end may be flipped to give a greater range of mounting angles. |
Once you see how the bracket goes together, separate the three parts and attach one metal bracket end to the rear of your Axiom speaker, using the inset bolt supplied on the rear baffle of the speaker. Use the Allen wrench to temporarily snug up the bolt and bracket. |
Choose the location for the wall portion of the SLB and install two screws appropriate to the mounting surface. Temporarily tighten those screws. |
Ask your assistant to help hold the speaker and bracket up to the wall-bracket portion, insert the round plastic puck and tighten enough to see if the speaker will be held at a desirable angle for your application. The speaker can be mounted vertically or horizontally but the wall-mount portion should only be positioned vertically. Owners of the Algonquin outdoor speaker will have two inset bolts on the Algonquin rear baffle to attach the speaker. Once the position is satisfactory, tighten the screws on the wall-mount portion of the bracket and on the speaker portion of the bracket and re-assemble the plastic puck and center bolt of the SLB. |
If the speaker and bracket angles are satisfactory, insert the two additional supplied SLB bolts in each curved mounting hole. You may have to screw the bolts in initially if they are a tight fit. Step 8: Attach the three nuts to the three SLB bolts and tighten them, using a pair of pliers to hold the nut on one side and the Allen wrench to tighten the bolts on the other. Note: Axiom strongly recommends the assistance of a friend or family member for the final installation steps of the speaker and SLB to the wall. It’s a two-person job. |
