I had bought a brand new Denon receiver from a b&m store quite a few years ago and a few months later costco had same receiver selling at nearly half of what I had paid for mine, I was pissed.
I actually put in a call to Denon in Canada , and was told that Denon receivers sold at costco were considered Grey Market by Denon Canada , and they would not honor the warranty.
I don't know if it is any different now .

Yeah; but not as much a fan as my wife
She's the one who gave me the educated guesses!!
Rich.
My favorite NASCAR incident, though, had to be when Rusty Wallace was racing a "Pontiac" and noticed that Fords were doin' quite well. So he asked if he could borrow a Ford engine. His request was granted and he did quite well also. Then he asked if he could be a Ford driver and they said "Yes" and he swapped out his "Pontiac" body for a "Ford" body to cover the "Pontiac" chassis that now had a Ford engine which then magically became a "Ford" chassis!
Gotta luv NASCAR!!
Rich.

I was in both local Costco's this morning (no HKs or Denons) and was told that the Costco Newsletter, which has featured HKs and Denons, is independent of the stores in terms of products advertised and is used as a marketing tool.
So I guess you need to subscribe to the newsletter and be ready to act when something you like becomes available.
As for the Denon being a grey market item I wouldn't give that a second thought as Costco's return policy is well beyond "generous". Although I think you should ask about the return policy if buying online.

Not sure what the Costco policy is in Canada, but the Costco here in Tracy is well known for customer serivce.. Seems if you keep the receipt, you can return most products, even electronics, 5 to 6 years later if you have an issue with one. They do not offer to exchange, they simply give you a full refund of the price you paid.

Tis true, I have two friends who work at Costco and I've heard stories of people who return Washing Machines 7 yrs after the fact. Full refund, no questions asked.
