I've had our VP150 parallel with our VP100 above and below the TV and really liked the sound, they were 3.45 ohms and was running them with an HK635....which ran 'em just fine.

Paul, if you have enough room behind your listening position(say at least 4')the additional back surround effect when playing 2 or 5 channel sources with DPLIIx would justify using another QS8 in back.

My optimum seating position is about (front row) 9' from the back wall, the second row in my HT room is about 4' from the back wall. But my Rotel 1066 doesn't do DLPIIx, just Dolby Pro Logic II.

Guess I should've added the usual "etc." after "DPLIIx", Paul. You can apply Neo:6 with your 1066 to extract the surround ambience present in varying amounts in 2-channel material and send it to side surrounds and a center back surround. Also, DD EX can be applied to 5.1 movies to extract material from the side channels which is about equal in level in the left and right channels and intended to image in the back center, and send it to a back speaker for a better effect.

Worf,
do you have a riser? If so, can your back row "see" the centre channel speaker right now?
That is originally why I decided to get 2 centres, above and below, for the second row so they get good centre channel sound too, and so does the front row with the bottom centre. It worked out well tho, because I really like the split centre channel above and below, it seems as though the dialog is actually coming from the actors mouths in the centre of the screen.

Yes, I can just see the EP150 from the back row in the seated position. In order for me to get 2 VP150's I would have to put both of them behind my screen. Now I do believe the screen material is acoustically transparent, but I would have to test that. http://www.axiomaudio.com/boards/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=184977#Post184977If that is true, then I could put the single VP150 right in the middle of the screen, behind the screen material, exactly where most of the dialogue would be coming from. Would there still be a benefit to two EP150's in this case? I would have to build the screen out a bit, 6” or so, to fit the 150, but that is defiantly doable. Paul

you may be able to lower your screen, and mount a VP150 above the screen, as the second row will not need to have a clear view of the VP150 anymore, this would save you from doing further construction on your screen.
A VP150 doesn't take up much room, and it can actually be mounted "over" your black frame, and when you look at it from below, it won't even look like it has been mounted over, as long as the projector as a clear view of the top of the screen for 16:9 material, you're good to go!
