I'm considering some M22ti's for fronts & I noticed that they can be purchased individually. Would a 22ti center be a good match. The alternative is a vp100.

Any time you can use a exact matching center to your fronts will yeild a better match for your front soundstage. However, there will be less of a sweetspot if you choose an M22 over a Vp150. One of the beautiful parts of the Vp150 is that it enlarges the sweet spot considerably. But most people would agree that if you could stand an M22 up as your center at the same height as the other two, you will have a better matching set up.

If I used a MT22ti as a center, it would be higher than the L/R and most likey on its side.

Then why bother ? Just use a VP150... Believe me, you will not be able to detect any diff between a 150 or a 22 as center, with regard to timbre match.. Not to mention the fact that the 22 is designed to be upright, and the 150 to be prone..
LFE ! The rest is just details..

Using the M22 on its side is not a good idea. The treble dispersion will then be different from the left to right, which will adversely affect the imaging. I would go with the VP150.

Jeff, a vertical M22 would be an ideal match for the other M22s, but if you insist on horizontal placement, forget it. If the height is what concerns you, consider a vertical M2, which has been found to serve very well in that function and which in my view would be better than your alternative, the VP100.
