Since Axiom eliminated charging PST, prices in Ontario went down 3% even after the price incraese of 5%.

Can I ask why this price increase has affected the UK as well? We are undergoing an economic crash at the moment and as an example Axiom have just increased the price of the M60s from £656.00 to £792.00! That's a 20% increase, and it has affected the whole range of speakers!
Fortunately I already own a pair of M60s (which are amazing) but I was planning on buying a VP150 centre for the new year. This price increase has put an upgrade out of my budget now :-(
I don't mean to be a sourpuss but this is crazy. It's putting Axiom prices in line with distributed speaker brands. The reason I went with Axiom in the first place was the excellent value for money. Before I felt that Axiom had the price/performance ratio spot on, especially for international customers.
Who do I speak to about this?

Thanks EFalardeau, I have contacted customer support to ask for the reasoning behind the 20% hike and to see if this just short-term increase.

The British Pound is down ~15% in the last 4 months against the US dollar ( see chart), and Axiom can't afford to absorb the drop in value of the Pound without some adjustment. I imagine the ~20% hike versus ~15% drop in value is to protect themselves from additional swings in value of the Pound/Dollar ratio, which isn't hard to imagine given the wild ride we've all been on in the last month or two. Hopefully in time it will stabilize... Jason

When I read the 'Canadian Price Increase' thread title, strangely it didn't occur to me that the UK would be affected as well. I would have bought my new speakers there and then! Hello Canada!
Just a note to let you all know about the upcoming price increase in Canada. Prices will be going up 5% on September 26th to more accurately reflect current exchange rates. One week left! Still looking for my "UK Price Increase" thread

I'd still call them to ask. If they know you are going to purchase on a given day the risk to them is reduced given that credit card companies do the exchange on the day the transaction is done. I'm guessing you won't be able to recover the entire 20%, but maybe if they can look at rates on a given day they can agree to lower it slightly knowing exactly what they'll receive in local currency.

Having bought 2 M60v2s , a VP150m2 and 2 QS8v2s about 2 years ago ....and loving them....I was looking forward to expanding my set with 2 M80v2s, since I recently moved to a larger room, but to my shock and dismay I discovered Axiom have increased prices from 1290 to 1379 € per pair. Although US and Canadian $ have decreased in value compared to the €, and I was expecting a subsequent decrease in price, the opposite has happened, and as a result I have decided to look elsewhere (ie : in Europe) for 2 expansion speakers,....unless Axiom agree on selling them to a poor Belgian (ex-)customer, who has recently been feeling the (US-created) financial crisis.

Give Axiom a call, you never know. I will guess some of the discrepency is in the cost of shipping.

Depends on when he bought them. There have been global price increases over the last few years or so.
Whaaaaayyy... I remember when M22s were $400! Prices go up, get used to it.
