I have to wonder what kind of system I would end up with if I did strike it rich, though. If I struck it rich, I'd probably get Revel Salon2s. They run about $22k for a pair. I just couldn't see spending any more that that no matter how much money I had. Heck, I doubt they are 15 times better than the M80s. But the Revels are certainly more sexy than those YGs. You'd think for that much money, they give you something which looks like a Koenigsegg or a Bugatti instead of a Volvo.

Hey, 2009 isn't too far into the 2000s. Something tells me this is all going to be lumped together into one big shudderable era.

Those Salons look way too speakery for 22k. May as well spend a little more for those nautilus things from B&W: much more Bughati like.

Well, the Bose wave radio really does sound like a concert hall as the advertisements say!! I've still never heard one, so I can't agree or rebuff with any weight. I've never even seen one .

Don't you just love how every high-end speaker webpage begins with, "the worlds finest speaker"... how can they all be the finest?
And for $22,000 dollars, I'd say I aughta be able to do whatever I damn well chose to do with the speaker stand. What, I give them half a years salary, and they get to tell ME what I can and can not do with my speakers??? I think NOT!!!

I actually don't like the look of aluminum design. It feels cold to me. I love the look of wood. Kind'a like taking a Stratovarius violin and trying to convince me a CNC machined version will give it more soul. I can't imagine sitting there trying to convince myself that just because I spent $100,000+ for a set of speakers now I need to like the way they look. Also, if I could afford that price, I might need to also hire a bodygaurd to prevent my kids from using the exposed speakers as minitrampolines for their Barbie dolls!

Soul is all very fine, but accuracy is nice, too. That being said, there has to be a way to sell speakers with that level of accuracy at a price mere mortals can afford, so they certainly deserve any grief they get over their gouging.

That level of accuracy would be wasted in my listening room. I'd need to spend another $100,000 to do the proper accoustical engineering to justify the first $100,000 spent on the speakers, LOL. But, the trade-off just to hear Twisted Sister in it's reproduced purity would be worth it!
