3D may draw me back to the theater, but aside from Imax, I have only seen one movie in the theater since I set up my HT.

We have good movie theaters here - I have an Epic 60 - 500 and the theaters do not come close to sounding as good as the system. Not even close. We rent a house at the beach for our vacation and as a rule, the speakers are either a POS or non existant. When we get home after a week, the minute I turn on the TV - even if it something like the local news, it hits me - WOW, does this sound good.

I too stopped going to movie theaters, the image is crap compared to what we are used to, and the sound is ok, if you are dead center. But it is nothing like a solid system - and my system is not budget buster either. I'm surprised the market has not spit out a line of high-end small movie theaters that cater to those of us who know there is better out there.
You know Sony is making 4K projectors - can you imagine a properly up-scaled 4K image on a THX-correct screen size? Wow.
