Funny Face. Breakfast at Tiffany's. My Fair Lady. Sabrina. Did she do any "average" work? Love her, and that oversaturated Technicolor. My daughters ripped Moon River by Holly Golightly off of a VHS tape. Then there was "Wait Until Dark" with Alan Arkin. And she was part of the (I think) French Underground in WWII. Pretty awesome.

My daughter is home from App this weekend. She discovered that I bought a copy (I suspect is bootleg) of Fantasia off of Ebay. That is what we are watching. If JohnK is checking this out, I have determined that I am not a Stravinsky fan.

If you are a fan of B&W movies and quick witted but understated humor, I recommend it.[/quote
I do like them. I haven't seen enough.
[quote=Argon]Not sure what generation CV is from - Audrey Hepburn (no relation) is another of my favorites. "Roman Holiday" comes to mind. It's pretty hard not to love Audrey Hepburn. I do own Roman Holiday, along with Sabrina and, though not in the same era, Always. I used to own Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I must have given it away. I do like that movie, despite the horribly offensive portrayal of a Japanese man. As far as B&W movies, I've always been a sucker for the Frank Capra movies. I just got It's a Wonderful Life on Blu-ray. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is another favorite, of course, with Jean Arthur being just about perfect. I actually ordered Easy Living when it dropped in price on Amazon.com the other day. Hopefully it's a good one.

Oops, sorry for the butchered quoting. Let's just say I was tired. I was also going to say that I tried to watch My Fair Lady at one point, too, but the whole men-teaching-women-how-to-be-ladies thing was hard to stomach.
I just watched Cutthroat Island. I didn't have high hopes, considering Renny Harlin's other work, and I still found it unsatisfying. There were a couple of moments that made me smile, but it was too long, not engaging, and just poorly-executed.

The first episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. My sister said I should try it, and a lot of people seem to really like it, so I figured I'd better. The first episode was interesting enough to get me to watch more. My sister said it continues to get better in subsequent seasons, so I guess I have a lot of watching ahead of me.
I also watched Up again earlier, this time with my parents. I may have liked it even more the second time.

I watched Cutthroat Island years ago...another couple of hours of my youth I wish I could have back . Geena Davis' makeup job was downright scary in that movie, the only thing I remember about it, other than that, was that the movie was a trainwreck...errr, shipwreck?

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas
Very funny, but I see no reason to own it on Blu-ray. The video quality isn't noticeably better than DVD I suppose because of the look they're going for. Of course, right now there's only $1 difference in DVD versus Blu-ray on Amazon.com, so I guess go for the Blu-ray, anyway. Ha ha.

Back to Audrey. My youngest daughter brought her poster of Audrey home from college. I asked her why. Her roomate said she couldn't sleep with "that girl" looking at her all the time.?!? Didn't even know who it was/is. Maybe it shouldn't, but that kind of thing never ceases to amaze me.

More Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's definitely a kids' show, but the episodes are getting more entertaining. I look forward to seeing the whole story play out.
