I've been sneaking around here for a few months. After reading everyones sugestions I ordered the M60s, Vp150 and Qs8s. I ordered last Sat. and recieved 1 M60 today. I guess Fedex is busy this time of year. The worst of it is only ONE speaker. I guess I'll sit and look at it till the others arrive tomorrow.
I do have a question (the answer is probally here but I missed it). My seating is such that our chairs is against the rear wall. The left seat(facing the tv) has a wall 5' to left and to the right chair is an opening. Do I place the sourounds on the rear wall or put the left side on the wall and the right surround on a stand so they are on the sides? Also the room is 16'x 16'.
Thanks everone, and hopefully tomorrow I will be listening the the sweet sound of the Axioms!

Red, as you describe your room the best idea would probably be to mount the QS8s on the rear wall about 5-6' high and widely separated, almost to the sidewall on the left and where the sidewall would have been on the right.

Hi anotherRed.Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. You will be happy with the speakers and noticed that you got the floor models. On your question, I will leave that to the more knowlegeable guys here in the forum. Let us know how you like the speakers. Isabel.

Were you that guy named "anonamous" I kept seeing when I checked to see who's on line?
Welcome to the forum!
Ideally, side surrounds should be placed to the sides and slightly behind the listening position. I've always thought that this was a little silly because it only takes into account only one seating position - the "sweet spot". My friend, and much respected poster on this fourm (and others), Masa (sushi) has a simular setup where his seating is close to the back wall but nowhere to mount the QS8s to the sides. So his are on the back wall. There is a picture of his setup on this board, perhaps someone else can tell us how to get there. Anyway, his sound just fantastic. If your surround speakers were not dipoles, like the QS8's, I would say put them to the sides with the stands. But I think the QS8's would be just fine on the rear wall.
P.S: To sushi: We miss ya, give us a sign if you're still out there.

LOL! Hawkson101, thanks for pointing that out but when I asked AnotherRed: "Were you that guy named "anonamous" I kept seeing when I checked to see who's on line? ".
I was making a funny . Granted, it was subtle but come on, give me a little credit.

That probally was me! Im thinking they'll probally go on the rear wall, and I have seen the pic your talking about. When I put them up, how far should the left one be from the side wall? like 4" or more like a foot? I'm thinking if its too close the left one will have alot more sound from the wall deflection. I know its one of those things I just have to try, but a stating point is alwasy helpfull.
Thanks again
