That is true. But let me point out, I have 3 kids under 5 and I tend to be fairly clumsy/careless myself when it comes to not denting walls and/or chipping paint.
The colors are good, though! I think our painter only used two coats, as well (maybe less?!) Which either means the paint was good, or the painter was lazy. One or the other.

That's the recommened amount of finish coats for almost all domestic paints, Ken.
The most durable woodwork/trim paint I've ever encountered (that's not from Europe @ $90 per 1/2 gal.) is BM oil-based Satin Impervo. It's 20 years old in some of my clients' homes and still holding up.
Always call the place you live a house. When you're old, everyone else will call it a home.

I'm assuming the BM paint you suggest for me is water based, which I prefer. I don't really care for oil based (the fumes) nor extreme lasting qualities. I'll probably change the color in another 4 years.
Given the above, do I still want Benjamin Moore paint?
I'm thinking Behr paint from Home Depot would probably work just fine. Or Sherwood Williams.

I'm having a problem with my Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH receiver after I moved it. (Moved all the electronics to living room while I'm working on the walls.) The RCA receptacle on back for subwoofer pre-out isn't allowing the RCA plug to make good contact. I have to hold it off to one side before I get any contact for subwoofer. Bummer.
I took the cover off, only to see that the plugs are part of a motherboard-like circuit board with the parts on the underside where I can't get to them. This board is also soldered to other boards making it a nightmare to be able to even get to the parts. So, I put the cover back on.
Anyone else have this problem? It seems a waste to have to abandon it. The cost of repair may be too high. Don't' know.

I've got a 3 inch hole in the wall, that I've run some PCV pipe through that I want to repair before painting the wall. I'm not going through all the trouble to make the hole bigger and add wood, etc, etc. Someone suggested just using one of those mesh thingi-ma-bobs. I was thinking about making a plug out of drywall that fits tight, push it a little further in than the surface, then fill with spackling and sanding smooth.
Any thoughts here?
The next hole and pipe behind the TV is going to be bigger and in a different spot. Hard to thread several cables in the last one I did.
Well here's a thought. I could just leave it there. It might be handy for a future service hole for running some cable. It'll be behind the TV. The other end is in a closet at floor level. I don't know how I remember all these posts but forget more pressing things... Try this

Hole: Somewhere around the house I've got a piece of some metal patch mesh stuff made for this purpose. I think I'll just try that first. It's more of a 2 inch hole. I also have two 1/2 inch holes and I think I can just stick spackling in these.
