I think my mom or even grandmother used to call it a bubbler. I've always used 'drinking fountain'.

Pet peive for me is ppl calling POP anything but POP.
I'll compromise on soft drinks however.
Last time I checked, soda had an arm and hammer on the box and coke is trademarked

I've got to disagree with you there. The English language has adjectives for a reason! The soda with the arm and hammer is most definately "baking soda." Otherwise we can't call anything "powder" because of "baking powder." If we start ignoring adjectives entirely we'll get into a whole heap of trouble pretty fast. As for calling everything "Coke" though, I'm with you 100%.
