Because of room size 13x14x9 have decided to go with the epic 60,qs4s,vp100,and thinking of the ep125 sub(8" woofer x 125 watts)$400.00.
Would the hsu stf-1(8" woofer x 150 watts) $299.00 on sale work better.

$299 is the regular direct price for the STF-1.
I have heard it.....incredible for its size and cost.

I too have heard it. Very nice, clean, tight sub. Though your room isn't tiny, and you're not pairing the sub with mini, satelite speakers...I'd get the STF-2.

Thanks for the input guys......problem have looked on the hsu site and found they do not ship to Canada. Can anyone recommend a hsu authorized seller that does ship to Canada and will not want an arm or a leg for the sub.

I believe Hsu DOES have a Canadian distributor. It's Hi-Fidelity.com.

I've just ordered the SVS PB10-ISD for my M60s and QS8s. It's in the same price range as the STF-2. I have never heard any sub more than $50, and based my decision entirely on online info such as this forum. The SVS and HSU subs have good reputations, even here where they compete with Axiom's line of subs.
I have to add that both SVS and HSU mostly sell direct, but their websites are so ugly and their online stores are atrociously badly designed. It took me a lot of courage to finally order from SVS yesterday, thinking these guys are sub specialists after all.
Axiom's online store, OTOH, while not super-slick, is quite satisfactory. My QS8 order got shipped in less than 2 hours after I clicked the 'complete order' button.

Hey,
I purchased an HSU sub from the following Canadian retailer...

I actually thought the SVS site is quite nice. I know what you mean by the Hsu site though. Sure has a "fly-by-night" kind of feel to it. Though is MUCH improved over the past two years. When I bought my VTF-2 I was VERY nervous. I found a local dealer so I could save the shipping costs, and nearly walked out of the "store". The guy running the place was a nut, and his "store" looked more like a junk yard. I immediately called Hsu and let them know that using that guy to sell their product was REALLY hurting their reputation. (I think they stopped using him soon there after.)
Bottom line though...the VTF-2 rocks.
