AS some of you know, I (had) this real narrow room, with the 50" Sammy in the corner, and the M-60s side by side on the firepleace, Anyhow, this is fiance's light oak wall unit. She insisted on keeping it, and now I am glad she did. The center portion was removed as it was part of the 2 sides, but would only hold a 35" T.V. We put that in the other room. Them I built oak extensions, a bridge if you will. with (4) 48" sheves and rounded/routed trim. The match is about perfect in color. The Sammy is 46.5 wide, so is looks real tight but still brethes a little. The 150 c.c. was mounted on an Axoiom FMB from the bottom of the top shelf. It "floats" that way. Looks uncongested, and I can angle it any way I please. solid back panel in the 150 c.c. area to sure everything up, and clean up the "hollow" look. The whole center sits 18" off the back wall. Anyhow, just wanted to send an update, broke out the wood tools for the first time in forever. Made a few mistakes, but it came together well. Stain will lighten a bit. Bottom open area (where the wires are, will have a black acosttical framed access door for getting at things.

Excellent jon. I'm glad I took a break from the New Year's party BS to be treated to an excellent pic of your system. Well done!
Happy New Year guy's and gals!

Very Nice Jon! It looks like it was MADE for the Sammy. Just be sure the fan on the back of the Sammy has a couple of inches to breathe.
If you're happy with the sound of the 150 as it is, by all means leave it alone. However, if you feel something doesn't sound quite right, you might try mounting the 150 in the same space, but just a bit further forward, so the front edge of the 150 is sticking out of the enclosure by an inch or two. This would help minimize any reflections from the entertainment center itself. Should you do this, you also might pull the 60s out into the room a like amount, for the same reason.
Again, if everything sounds fine to you, feel free to completely disregard my ravings. Everybody else does.
I'm NOT a competent wood worker and much admire anyone who is. It really does look GOOD! Bravo!

Thanks Jack, the Sammy is 14" deep, I have it about 4" off the back wall, as that light can create some heat. The 60s are about 8" off the wall, with some salesmanship, mayle she will let me bring em a few more. The 150 flush from an "eyeball" side view with the front of the center (again I have to please someone else also) but has about alot of clearence space from top and bottom, and is angled, can'e see how even the most extremt cone projection would bring resosonse. Happy with sound, so far, except my damm 7.1 delima, but I have not "micro-managed" it yet. Everything is movable. Thanks, I just cracked my first cold one, several to go. Happy 2005 to all the great people here.

The entertainment center ruined the look of your system. No offend, just my personal preference.

My pet peeve is people posting photos that are too large and have inadequate compression. Other than that; Happy New Year.

Nice rig Jon - and those offering personal preferences that lean a different way may have missed the earlier comment - "the fiance wanted to keep the unit". I believe we covered the NSAS factor in another thread .
After years of tantric electo-shock therapy, I finally realized that once I married, I had no preferences. Fortunately, my wife has been able to provide consistent support over the years with explaining what my judgment is and providing me with my opinion. I will ask her how much I like your entertainment center.
Moving on, let's discuss lighting. I recently picked up an Ideal-Lume backlight from Cinema Quest Inc based on some things I read and Jack's input. Has turned out to be a very nice solution for turning out the lights and having an ambient light background. Have you considered one of these, mounted on the back of the HT Center? Scads easier than trying to light the center section and the 6500K bulb is much less intrusive than normal incandescent light bulbs.
