I do listten to a lot SACD's, not so many DVD-A's, and I don't listen to classical at all, but for $250 bucks I'll probably have to get an ICBM. I just told the wife a week ago that I was done buying stereo equpment (for a long while), and I believed it when I said it. Looks like I lied, oh well.
Sim, I'm thinking if you do listen to quite a number of SACD's the ICBM will improve your bass management and from what I've been reading and understanding it will do this to the point of you being extremely happy with the unit. I believe some folks think that the unit will provide a much better bass management system to their overall system or actually 'replace' the system...that's not the case with some receivers/processors. IMO
As far as this A/V stuff and the wife, it's a lost cause...I just get it, take the beating for a day or so and go on about my blissful way. Whenever we are either watching a movie or listening to *her* music and the compliments start, I just roll *my* eyes!
