I think one of the reasons that scene is so funny (besides Jimmy springing the gourmet sh#t out) is the fact that we've all been in that kind of situation in which we are "the friend of a friend" and we have to silently witness (as John T. does) the arguing. It's almost like being at a friend house for dinner when the family gets into a fight. Of course, I could be reading way too much into this, and the obvious -- perhaps I've seen the movie about 10 times too many!)
