You have recieved great advice on all aspects. I just wanted to chime in and say if $$ are not a problem i would go with the qs8 you will not regret it. having said that also keep in mind that if you order the qs4's and decide they are not enough for you in the first 30 days axiom will upgrade you for just the difference in the speaker price (it will not cost you shipping in either direction).so it is a win win.

Why not get the best and get the QS8s? That way you certainly will NOT have buyers remorse and, later on, wish that you had.
Just one man's opinion.

The 2805 should be fine and I agree about the QS8s. The Denon should be available refurbed. My 3805 is refurbed and I have no issues.

Ecost was mentioned as a place to buy refurb's. Any other refurb places to buy the Denon 2805?
Lorenzo1000, please excuse my ignorance but why would the Denon AVR-985s be exactly the same as the 2805? I have heard of different companies purchasing the same product and putting their company stamp on it and selling it as their own (ie, certain projectors), however, why would Denon sell the same product under two separate product numbers?

My understanding is that Denon offers two lineups of receivers to different sales channels, eg. 1905 to the upscale stereo stores, 985 to the mass marketers, sort of like the different GM brands.

Yes as John said the model names are for 2 channels. Bray and some other members informed me of this minor detail but both the 985 and 2805 are EXACTLY the same product. Even the Denon owners manual has the 2805/985 listed on the cover.
