For tonight's tailgate, I have a few Bear Republic Racer 5's, Two Brother's Hop Juice, and Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel. That should make me hoppy enough!

I have a few things to report. #1 A restaurant/brewery called Vintage 50 about 1 mile from my house (walking distance!) has a fantastically strong, very barleywine-like IPA called Molotov Hoptail on tap. It's so inexplicably unpopular that they've taken it off the menu. Leaves more for the people who know better, I suppose. I've already gone back twice for 2L growler refills. Yum! #2 Tomorrow night I'm attending a homebrew unveiling hosted by the three scientist/brewers who live/work at my place of employment. This is the announcement they sent out: "Hi Everybody, To combine two great things in life, namely Turducken and home-brewed beer, we decided to do a Turducken-beer tasting event tomorrow, at the studio commons at 8 PM. The home-brew Kevin, Dave and I prepared will be available for tasting, including some commercially available abbey ales as a comparison. Of course, there will be a vegetarian option (beer). Since this is short notice, and we want to know how much we need to get, please respond if you want to attend." If that doesn't get your tastebuds going, I don't know what will.

That sounds good, Peter. Beer culture in Tacoma continues to thrive. This article announces the following: - Draft IPA Festival at a great local beer house on August 4 - Christmas in July (NW Beers) at the 100 year old Engine House #9 - Christmas in July (Belgians) at Doyle's Be jealous.
