Chesseroo,

These wireless speakers do not have any loss of fidelity; that would not be proper in an Axiom product. Added to that is the 150 watt amplifier in each speaker; so what you have is a real Hi Fi system that is portable. We will be getting to the pricing on these shortly but I can guarantee that the yacht will cost you more.

I am curious if we might see wireless surround speakers, eliminating the need for the long wire runs such speakers so often require. I myself have stuck with stereo due to the cost and hassle of running surround wires. With a wireless surround option, I would probably upgrade to 5.1. Such an option might significantly increase the number of people interested in 5.1.

The problem with that is it is almost a sure fact that wireless QS8 surrounds with their own internal amp would cost more than getting some cable and a QS8...alot more.

I'm also intrigued by the wireless speakers. My company is involved in the space somewhat. I say somewhat because most attempts at wireless speakers using technologies like Bluetooth and Wifi tend to be quite bad, there's too much intererence in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

I completely agree with Craig, that the magnetic grills would be ideal. No post holes in the speaker, and no broken pegs on the grills. Probably easier to remove and replace the grills as well.

would the magnets be behind the vinyl/veneer?

that would be freakin awsome.

That's what I've always been envisioning...small, rather powerful magnets beneath the veneer. Line your grill up, and "click", they snap right into place. Don't like the look of grills...take them off, and you've got a nice clean look without post holes.

Small neodymium rare earth disc magnets would do the trick.

Will the standard (non wireless) outdoor M3s look the same (size wise) as the ones pictured? If so, those things are huge.

I was hoping to get a pair to hang under the eave over my patio. From the looks of them though, I don't think they'll fit. Even if they do, I'm not sure my wife would go for it.
