Thanks, JohnK. (any axiom tech online to confirm ?)
Kcarlile - my reason for asking went something like this (it might be a naive/not-very-useful one but it is a reason ;-) ):
say, instead of the value of 300hz given by johnk for the woofer crossover, it was 150 Hz (as in the case of B&W DM603 S3). Since my receiver has a fixed sub crossover at 100 hz, I get some idea of how much or how little work the woofers on the M60 would be doing when the sub is hooked up.

btw, if the front speakers are configured as "large", does the receiver send the "full range" frequencies to them or does it only send the frequencies above the crossover setting ?

cheers.

Any speaker set "large" gets the full frequency range, so if there's a good sub, set all speakers "small" regardless of how big they are physically.

Y'know John, I've been playing around with all those small and large settings and I would have to agree that for HT small all around with the sub cranked way up provides the best (loudest and clearest) sound. For 2-channel music though, I reset the M60s to large and turn the sub down (unless it's reggae or some other bass emphasized music - I keep the sub volume high). The sound from the M60s set to large is just softer and more natural sounding to my ears.

I haven't touched my sub's level -- for music or movies -- since I calibrated it. Have you tried level-calibrating your sub to match your speakers?

I callibrated with the speakers set to large, but have yet to re-callibrate with them set to small - just laziness. Every time we start a movie I think, "I need to callibrate." But then I think, "Do I want to hear my 9 month pregnant wife's exasperated sigh and comments about obsession?" Maybe I'll go callibrate right now.

So it gets worse? My wife is, let's see here... << counting on fingers >> 6 months along and she requires more and more of my attention daily.

I'm really glad my system doesn't need tweaking right now, otherwise I'd be really frustrated.

It got easier a couple months ago when I decided to stop trying to reason with her, make her feel better, calm her down, whatever. I suppose it's understandable - she looks like she swallowed a beach ball.

LOL. I just tell myself a happy mamma = a happy baby. When I massage her, the baby tends to start doing somersaults (or something). I guess the endorphines that get released during the massage are shared between mother and child.

But now we're COMPLETELY off topic...

Your wife is 6 months along and you are only frustrated by lack of speaker clibration time?
