I am envious! Please post a review on the concert.
Jones Beach Theater on Long Island, NY is a great place to see a show. It was a crisp, breezy evening which set the stage for a great evening. They went on at 8:00 promptly, as we were entering the outdoor arena and looking at tour shirts we heard the sound of "Limelight" being played. Someone said, oh it's not them - probably the sound board. I thought to myself, since when do they play music over the PA from the band that is performing in a few minutes!!! We scampered over to our seats in the front left section, about 5-6 rows from the corner of the stage.
While the performance of this legendary trio was stellar, I was somewhat disappointed from the setlist. Many obscure songs that my friend and I did not know, and 8 songs off the new album. Some of the new songs were very good, but due to the delay in the MVI version of Snakes and Arrows I only had about 2 days to digest the new stuff, I would have enjoyed it had I more time to become more acquainted with the new material.
One Little Victory was one of the highlights during the encore. I understand some songs have become stale and they wanted to freshen things up, but no Red Barchetta, 2112, Finding My Way?

Feist was great. Certainly the highlight of the evening.
The venue was a blessing and a curse. A blessing in that Parliament Hill is a beautiful sight. Neo-gothic architecture all around and the weather held up as well. The curse was that the sets are really short - usually about 6 songs or so and you are surrounded by really drunk Canadians - or are one of them. I won't say which one I was.

4 more days till Aerosmith! I'm not a huge fan but I am betting they put on a good show. Between Aerosmith and Cheap Trick as an opener, I'm exited but feeling kinda old so I bought Billy Talent tickets for September to keep that mid-life crisis thrill going!
To really keep the ears guessing, we have tickets to the PEI Symphony and it will soon be time for the obligatory Lennie Gallant hometown concert. A wonderfully diverse summer of music. PEI is like an island of music festivals in the summertime so lots more smaller shows will fill in there as well.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/thewonderwall/sets/72157594271032862/ Yeah, I really have to see Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS) live sometime. I mean, how can you not want to support someone who calls herself Lovefoxxx?

So are you constantly asking yourself during those photo shoots, "They PAY me for this?"

Thanks, Mojo. Wanna hear something funny? The only person that I'm intimidated to photograph this year is Clay Aikon. Seriously. My mom is a fan of his, and she wants me to take some "nice pictures" of him for her. She doesn't know who anyone else on the site is, except Willie Nelon and Kenny Rogers. To her, Clay Aiken is THE big name I'm shooting this year. Lighting? Agents and Managers? Two-minute time restrictions? Pfffft. Trying to make Mom proud? THAT's pressure!
