a place called Mondragon...while i don't agree with a lot of their politics or appetites (they are a vegan/organic coffeshop/cafe) it would appear they get an interesting band through every once in a while.

Oh great. You were essentially in the armpit of Winnipeg...or maybe just slightly south of it.

Some might say you were being generous in your description....

My wife and I, along with a couple of friends saw Robert Cray at the Sunrise Theatre in Ft. Pierce, Fl this evening. As usual Robert put on a great show but this evening was especially nice because of the rather small venue and it seemed as though he and the band were absolutely enjoying themselves, his playing was dead on...unlike my fishing trip earlier in the day whenever we only caught one 30# smoker kingfish.

Sunday I went to Roger Lord (pianist) and Christina Buoey (violin) as guests of the PEI Symphony Orchestra.

Going to be one of my most interesting falls ever music wise. Billy Talent 1st week of October, then the PEI Symphony, then a 'Classic Albums Live' rendition of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" coming up in a couple of weeks time.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

How may I ask did you come across this information? Are you into some photography that we don't know about?

I went to the Jimi Hendrix tribute the other night. It featured:

Mitch Mitchell (Original Hendrix drummer)
Billy Cox (Hendrix Bassist)
Buddy Guy
Tommy Shannon (SRV Bassist)
Chris Layton (SRV Drummer)
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Noah Hunt (KWS' vocalist)
Hubert Sumlin (Howlin' Wolf guitarist)
Robby Kreiger (Doors guitarist)
Mick Taylor (John Mayall and Rolling Stones guitarist)
Cory Glover (Living Color vocalist)
Kenny Olson (session and Kid Rock guitarist)
Andy Aledort (Hendrix Transcriptionist and guitarist)
Robert Randolph
Doyle Bramhall III
Mato Nanji (Indigenous guitarist)
Eric Gales

It was a small venue and there was lots of jamming and riff exchanges. The only performer I didn't enjoy as much was Buddy Guy. Legend or not, I think he likes to hear himself and the closest thing he did to a Hendrix cover was Hootchie Kootchie Man… which Hendrix also covered.

Highlights were a truly burning take on Voodoo Chile (with Mitch Mitchell and Chris Layton on dual drums, Tommy Shannon, and KWS, Hubert Sumlin, Robert Randolph and Doyle Bramhall on guitars, and vocals shared by both Noah Hunt and Cory Glover) and Voodoo Chile (slight Return) with KWS and Double Trouble.

I was impressed with the fact that it was not just the most popular songs, but some unusual ones as well such as Catfish Blues and Bleeding Heart. Awesome covers of Red House and Hear My Train a Comin'. Certainly the "Purple Hazes" and "I Don't Live Today's" and the "Crosstown Traffic's" were all covered, but the night had a strong blues lean.

It was 4 ½ hours of music, and the only thing left that I could have wanted to hear was "Machine Gun"; only because it's a personal favorite as played live on the Band of Gypsies album.

Very Cool……
