have any of you heard the Dynaudio 42 series system?

I'm going to be having a listen to them as well. Seems mighty expensive for just some bookshelfs (same price as the M80's) but the dealer is just across the street from my work, so what the heck.

it seems That within my price range the only B&W's that i can get are 600 series so i'm not too thrilled about that. any comparisons to make there?

Generally we hear about the Axioms being compared to the 700 series. I've never heard either.

If you want the 80's go for it, I just don't want these other guys to scare you away from the 60's, there is no basis, just opinion, as is my opinion.

Having just done direct comparisons between these 3 speakers, there is infact an audible difference between the them.

The M22s are the most forward for the reason you mentioned, they lack that warmth/fullness of the 6 1/2 drivers.

The M60s are slightly muted compared to the M22 or the M80 because they lack the extra mid9and tweeter in the M80) to compensate for the presence of the 6 1/2 driver. Now this only a very slightly muted sound, something along the lines of a few layers of grille cloth in front. Had I not been listening to M22s for a few years prior to my purchase of the M60s I most likely would have not known the M60 wasn't as forward as the M22.

The M80 has it all, the forwardness of the M22 and fullness of the M60.

Not till Thursday! This is going to be one of the longest weeks of your life. On the plus side, only 3 more sleeps to go before the fun begins.

i couldn't help notice that there's no real discussion about the m50 in the forums (infact a search turned up no threads).

is it the bastard stepchild of the product range?

There is a M50 posse out there and I am sure they will be along soon to speak up for the forgotten member of the Axiom group.

BTW, Welcome to Thursday! Let the games begin.
