What kind of music is it? I'm intrigued. It's jazz, trial, new age (but not cheesy NA), an interesting combination.

Last night I saw Sarah Slean at Joe's Pub in Manhattan. It was a magical night. Haven't seen her live in five years. Made me homesick even more. But her new material is just wonderful.

The wife went to the 5th BonJovi Show at the ACC in Toronto Thurday night.
She's seen the other 4 shows sitting front row for 2 of them, a VIP on the 3rd ( sit on stage for a couple songs) and she even scored a hug from the guy!
The only chick he huged all night! Not sure what he did or who after the show? But it wasnt her!
I should have went with her but i was never a big Bonjovi fan.
I gave my ticket to one of her sisters that is in love with him so i think she needed to go more then me.
To be honest i kind of regret not going after hearing how good of a show it was. I only had 5 times to check it out!
Oh well maybe he will do a sith show?

Well, I'm lucky enough to live in Austin, and I've had 24 hours to recover from SXSW. Here's who I saw from 3/12-3/16 (with a few comments/notes):
Steve Poltz Rocco DeLuca Gustavo Alberto Circo Salvador Santana Joe Ely Back Door Slam (These kids are amazing --awesome blues/rock) Jesca Hoop Howlin Rain Ceci Bastida A Weather Dead Confederate (Opening for REM -- LOUD and rocking) Girl in a Coma Rupa and the April Fishes (Eclectic but engaging) Murs (Great hip-hop, funny, and great intelligence) Willie Nelson (A legend. Not my usual cup of tea, but still great) Tift Merritt Christian Scott Old 97s Maya Azucena (Wow, this woman can sing) Upground (Every SXSW I have a "find", and this is it this year! Amazing blend of reggae, ska & cumbia. Think Sublime & 311, but run through a latino filter. Nice young kids who are incredibly tight.) Vampire Weekend (the next big thing, and they really were good) Jim Bianco (quirky voice and great songs: think Tom Waits) Cary Brothers
How do you even make sense of so many different artists? I don't know! It was amazing.

This is me ignoring and expressing no envy for Rich's residence in Austin.
Not.

And this is me ignoring the fact that Tom still hasn't come to Austin to enjoy the bounty that is here! Next major music event: Austin City Limits Music Festival 9/26-9/28. But plenty of other music before then, too!
And all this fun has put a major dent in new home theater construction. But that's for another thread...
