Has anyone listened to these AIX discs? They were mentioned in the AV Rant podcast that was posted in another thread... They look interesting, but before I take the plunge I thought I'd see if anyone has first-hand experience.

I recently ordered two of these 96 kHz/24 Bit recordings. I have the Lawrence Juber acoustic DVD Guitar Noir and the Steve Pierson Blueshead - Blue Me Away disk. There are 2.0 and 5.1 tracks included on the disk and IMHO AIX has some the best recorded music you can buy.

The Lawrence Juber is one of my favs. Of course, I was a guitarist for years, so I'm a tad biased.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just to check, have you had any trouble playing them on your DVD player? From what I understand the PS3 plays SACD formats as well, so I'm thinking that it should play everything they've got, but I thought I'd ask before I put down the order.

The PS3 does not play the competing DVD-Audio format (remember that SACD is Sony), unless I really missed something. But it should play the stereo hi-res version and the surround DTS/DD tracks from the "regular DVD" layer.

Also note that the 40GB version does not support SACD.

I have the 60GB version but didn't know that about the 40GB version. Thanks for the info as always.
