I see your point, looking at the width compared to the height, you might be right.

The M22's grille doesn't cover the entire front of the speaker. It looks too short to be an M22, anyway.

It's definitely not an M80, although the grilles on those go all the way down, too.

My guess is an M2, pre-"ti" period. Other than the visual cue of the Axiom + Millenia logo, you can see that the front facets are less rounded than current generation Axiom speakers.

no serial numbers or anything on the back?

Look for something on the back and call axiom!
