Well the Monster may have been banished from here, at least for a while.

From another site I frequent, the stock response is; "sirch noob, everything that can be asked has been asked."

I've been thinking, and if the upgraded part gives the EP800 linear output down to 10 Hz, the wait will have been worth it.

Totally, JC told me it'll actually go down to -3 Hz once they get the new parts in.

So I called Axiom just now and Brent says the new estimate for the EP800s to begin shipping will be in two weeks.

After the holidays, indeed. Hopefully they had a nice relaxing holiday with our money, right?

Seriously, though, how many times do they get to say it will be two weeks? I estimate there will be another estimate in two weeks. There, now my hopes won't be up.

Maybe if you order another one they will come faster?

This is why companies should NOT give release date estimates. "We are working on making it (better)" is all they should feel obligated to say.

A delay in the release date means either that it isn't up to snuff yet, or that they found a bug or flaw in a release candidate that would have made you whine if you knew it was in the one you had.

So, take joy in the delays. It'll be that much better. \:\)

Yeah, I should either NOT preorder anything ever or learn to have a better attitude about the inevitable delays. Unfortunately, I'm drawn to the preorder discounts... but I figure the lack of reviews offsets the savings enough to where I don't want to have an indefinite wait on top of it. Still, if the delays are a necessary evil, lack of communication is not, and they should be sharing the progress more readily. Some may argue that they shouldn't have to take time out of this last bit of product development crunch to provide updates like that, but I have to believe it takes less time to update people on your own schedule than to take call after call from impatient people.
