Hey Scott:
Normally, you would want to check
this thread to see if someone is nearby. In your case, the only person registered in VT is Chafter, but he hasn't posted since February 2005. You may want to call Axiom to see if there are others in the area that aren't listed.
Failing that, you may want to see if someone in Canada is close by. Otherwise, that would probably leave me as the closest person as I'm in Concord, NH and have M60s.
Though I haven't auditioned them, many say that the B&W 700-series and the Paradigm Studio line have sonic signatures similar to Axioms, so if there's a local brick and mortar dealer nearby that carries either it would likely give you a good idea of the sound.
Keep in mind though that speakers that sound a certain way in a store or somebody elses' home won't sound exactly that way in YOUR room and with YOUR placement. I guess what I'm saying, is that it might be worth ordering the M60s to try them in your own location. The vast majority of people who do this love and keep the speakers. If you don't like the sound, return postage really isn't that much if you think of it as a "rental fee" for the month to try out the speakers.
Feel free to PM me if you wish.
