I forgot to mention this deal on MS points. Amazon.com is giving $5 in credit in their Xbox Live store if you buy a code for 1600 MS points ($19.99), or $10 if you buy 4000 MS points ($49.99). If you're wondering why you wouldn't just buy multiple 1600 point codes instead of 4000, it's because you can only get one credit per household. I only went with the 1600 points. I'm trying to do all of my Xbox live purchases in codes now. Amazon.com actually has deals on them, whereas if you buy directly off Xbox Live Marketplace, the deals are much rarer. Also, now that I have a different debit card, I'll be out of Microsoft's system, so I'll just add on to my Live subscription and points balance with codes. Amazon.com deal on MS points

Just a follow-up on HMVs promo...make sure you know prices!! having shopped there recently over the last couple of months and knowing what several BD's were selling for, I have noticed that several of the BD's they were selling for 2/$40 have gone UP to 2/$50 so the promo is not much different than what their prices were in many cases. One hand giveth...the other...

http://www.woot.com/ has a Slingbox-type device for $60. I don't know anything about it, so you're on your own. Matter of fact, I know SO little about it, I almost typed that it was a SlingBLADE-type of device. But I thought others might be very interested...

I saw this linked to on Cheap Ass Gamer a few days ago, but I didn't join until last night. For $19.99 (or $14.99 if you're a student or in the military), you can join the ECA (Entertainment Consumers Association) and get some nice benefits. I joined for the 10% discount on game software on Amazon.com. I know I'll get my money's worth out of my membership fee. ECA Membership BenefitsFrom the About Us section of the site: ECA OVERVIEW The Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit membership organization established to serve the needs of those who play computer and video games.
Formed in 2006, the ECA is an advocacy organization for consumers of interactive entertainment. Gamers represent nearly fifty percent of the US population and spend $10 billion annually on gaming, yet as a group are continually overlooked by both politicians and the mainstream press. The mission of the ECA is to give game consumers a voice and to ensure that elected officials hear their concerns and appreciate the growing influence of the gamer demographic.
The organization, which is headquartered in Connecticut, focuses its advocacy efforts on consumer rights, anti-games legislation, and a host of other public policy concerns as well as providing substantial community, educational, and affinity benefits to its members—from discounts on subscriptions and game rentals and purchases to education, employment assistance, and insider access to industry news and events.

Just in case you didn't see, Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic (PS3) is free courtesy of Sprint until 5/21 at the PlayStation Store. I don't know how good it is, but free is free. I downloaded it and will try it out later.
