My wife got an email from one of her friends saying she was having a party and was sending out invitations. The email asked for our address, which was not suspicious. My wife provided the house and street number. When a reply came asking for the city and state, as well, we know something fishy was going on. My wife called the friend to let her know her email account had been compromised. Interesting. I've never heard that one before. Asking for the state does certainly tip one off. Soft password to gmail? Personally i use " Fluffy[ittlebunnEEEwent2themarket@SolsburgonOctober32nd1999!!". I would love to see someone crack that pass!!

On a more serious note, if you know how to extract the headers from the email, do so and send them along with the originals to "abuse@(whatever your ISP's name is)". It's likely originating from some uncooperative country in Asia or South America but if it never hurts to report these things.
