Just watched “Terminator Salvation” Blu-ray. Pretty decent movie though I really didn’t care for the John Connor guy that much, but I like all the rest of the characters. It’s mostly action but I thought well balanced in that no one scene even fights and chases last to long w/o some interesting twist to change the dynamic. But at the same time it’s not so full of rapid cuts as to make you dizzy.

Real good picture quality the detail is great but it’s a little bland colour-wise due to the post-apocalyptic setting. Plenty of explosions and other special effects as eye candy.

Where this movie really shines is the soundtrack. The best workout my sound system has ever had. It’s got everything, big bass, all sorts of direct and ambient sound effects. It’s pretty much going on all the time so it’s not just a few scenes here and there that benefit but almost the whole movie.

If you want to give your system a great workout watch this movie. IMO way better than “Transformers 2.”

The audio is going to be intense!

Have you watched GITS 2.0 yet? If so what did you think of it?

I've liked Avatar: The Last Airbender since I started watching, but it's getting pretty amazing as the story develops. It's hard to believe it's a Nickelodeon cartoon. I don't know if it's as good as Buffy, but I'm eager to see how it all turns out.

I’ve heard good things about “Avatar: The Last Airbender” but always got the impression it was heavy on the fight scenes and am worried that they will get repetitive. Also I’ve got a backlog of at least between 50 and 100 anime (I’ve lost count) to watch and some of them like I InuYasha is 30 not counting the movies and Bleach which is up to 22. And I’m just starting the 9th disk of “Full Metal Alchemist.” So something else would have to be out-of-this-world good to even gut bumped up into the top 20 of the queue.

I wouldn't say there's an overabundance of fight scenes. There's always been enough story going on that I didn't notice, at least. I'd say the first book started off a bit slower, to set it all up, but it picked up in the second book. I just started book 3, and it looks like it's going to be quite a ride until the end. Since I'm not done, I can't make a case for where it should be in your queue, but I'm finding a lot to be impressed with.

Oh, and I'm glad you're still watching Fullmetal Alchemist. I do intend to watch that over again sometime, along with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Death Note.

Before I put it in my Netfix queue I was wondering if you‘re renting the disks or watching it streaming? If you are watching streaming does the Dolby digital 2.0 come through or is it just in mono or standard stereo? Hard to believe an American made Anime could be done well. ;\)

I’ve been purposely pacing myself watching “Full Metal Alchemist” because it’s one of the few anime I’ve seen that does a great job of breaking the story up into bite size pieces that can be watched a little bit at a time. Plus with getting the projector I’ve changed my viewing habit’s a bit and going back to watch a lot of stuff I had on hold until I got things set up here.
