Thanks for the review link, I would never have thought to check out Blu-ray.com com for one. How does AnimeNewNetwork's review of it jive with your impression of it compared to the Blu-ray.com review.

That's pretty much on the money from my perspective.

Thanks! I’ve read enough of their reviews to know how their reviews opinions and mine match up. I have it so I will watch it at some point but I’m in no hurry.

I don't know if anyone caught it, but that First Nations chap I mentioned a couple weeks back by the name of Derek Miller was playing guitar at the Olympic closing ceremonies tonight. He's got some pretty good blues stuff on Youtube.

Watched 9 tonight. It was OK. The graphics, dialog and pace of the movie were good, but there really wasn't much in the way of plot.

Watched the latest episode of Caprica. I really want to like this show which doesn’t bode well for actually liking it. Based on the pilot movie I figured this show would be interesting but it’s proving more difficult to stay interested every time I watch.
It’s already doing one thing I hated about Galactica which is running more than one major story arc with different characters. At least Galactica usually kept that down to 2 major arcs at a time but Caprica already has at least 4 up and running. The practicality of that mean only about 10 minutes of each arc/episode or like this episode one is completely left out allowing a whole 13 or so minutes for each of the other 3.
Then there’s slow plot. One of the 3 story arcs in this episode was pretty much just killing time so they could have a “cliff hanger” at the end. The last episode AFAIR was over a third filler doing nothing to advance any of the plots. 1/3 was wasted on setup for more setup in this episode for a small plot advancement. I could go on and on . . . .
Not all is bad. The writing and acting are very good. Most of the actors already seem to have their characters down. I find a couple of the plot lines promising which is proving just enough to keep me watching for now. I hope they get things moving or it might not last long enough to tell the story it intends. I should check some blogs to see what people are thinking of it and it’s ongoing chances.
Yeah Fred that’s about what I thought of “9” also.

I agree with you on Caprica Dean. I really want to like it. On paper, it has all kinds of very intriguing story lines and characters on the blurred line of several morality issues to play with. However, like you, I find myself watching just because I feel I should, and not so much because it makes me want to.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I just caught up on the last two episodes last night. I think the show's style of cramming many different arcs into one episode works better if you watch more than one episode in a sitting. That being said, it still leaves you with an unpleasant hanging feeling when you've run out of material to watch. I'm not sure if I like the New Cap City story arc, with Neo, I mean Tamara Anderson, err Adama character. It's a wide open story arc that can go in many directions. We shall see. The show definitely is keeping my interest.

Murph, that’s a good way of putting it. I guess I’m also watching “just because I feel I should.”
Peter, that may be my mistake watching it every week. I haven’t watched a weekly episodic show since the second season of “Eureka.” It’s just more compelling to order the DVDs and watch all of them. Still I hope Caprica holds enough of an audience to finish it’s planned run, I hate a show that either doesn’t get resolved or has to be rushed at the end like “Space Above and Beyond.” I was thrilled when “The Peacekeeper Wars” and “Serenity” came out to give some sort of closure to those shows.
