I think the seperation of the front wall should be fine. I struggled alot with wanting to follow the dolbey 22 to 30 degree spec, but based on input from this site's guru, Alan loft, I have them much closer together. Look back to some of my past posts for details and alan's explinations. You should been good!

I think mounting across the front with only ~8ft seperation would work as the listening distance is only ~13' back, not too far off the equilateral. I would try them here first and then move them out to the side if it doesn't sound good to you.
