Ron, hopefully "put to the test" doesn't just mean "look how loud", because the ability to play more delicate passages effectively is also required of a good system. I'll suggest some of my favorite discs that cover the entire spectrum of musical requirements. First, Herrmann's great score for The Day the Earth Stood Still ; combining thunder and delicacy superbly, The Planets ; Stravinsky's music which caused a riot at the first performance, The Rite of Spring ; the savage/beautiful Roman Trilogy .
