Thanks for mentioning them. Both are well worth getting if you like the genre or “Black Symphony” if someone just wants a reference concert for demos.

I'm still in awe of Tarja's performance in "End of an Era. Kinda wish I found found her years ago. http://www.gothtronic.com/?page=23&livereviews=415

Iron Man 2
I liked the first one all right, though it didn't do as much for me on subsequent viewings. I wanted to see this sequel, but not really enough to make special plans to see it at the theater. I got to go out and be with friends tonight, though, and it's what the group decided on. Unfortunately, we saw it at the theater that I didn't have discount tickets to. Those weirdos.
The action was amped up, as you'd expect. Despite that, it still seemed to drag a bit in parts, like the first one did. And we didn't stick around to see whatever little thing happens after the credits, so I guess that will be a mystery to me until it comes out on disc.
Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood to watch it. My friend actually fell asleep for around 10 minutes. Not the strongest recommendation, but the other movie options didn't seem any better. I think the movie will be more fun on my home system, anyway, since the audio will no doubt be better.

Enjoyed some Cake music videos on YouTube since they came up in conversation today, then watched a live clip of Hello Saferide's "2006."

I just finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I liked the series more than I thought I would, so thanks to Mark for convincing me to try it. Even if I had problems with certain aspects of it, there were also plenty of examples of inventive and thoughtful writing.

Wow! Sure seems like you got through all 7 seasons pretty quick. I remember starting to loose interest after season 4 and by season 7 is was just pretty much hanging on to see how it ended. I kind of wish it had been cancelled after season 4 and then Whedon had gotten the money to do a movie to tie it all together like “Firefly” which I thought he did and excellent job on with “Serenity.”
Anything in particular you really liked or disliked about the show. I liked the “funny” episodes and parts of the writing the best. I least cared for the real life stuff after she gets out of school. I think my favorite story arc is when she is first attending university. The show seem to really be taking off at that point despite just ending a major story arc.

I would agree that the funny stuff did the most for me. I liked some of the drama, but when it got too heavy I would wish the show would stop taking itself so seriously. It would make me picture Joss Whedon and the other writers sitting around a table congratulating each other on how fearless their writing was. Like I said, I liked some of the drama, but I guess it wasn't always at the right ratio for me, personally.
I just started watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Blu-ray. I'm hoping that the pacing gets better after it gets out of familiar territory. Right now it doesn't seem to build and transition with any grace. I do like how clean and pretty the picture is on Blu-ray, though. Anime on Blu-ray can be very beautiful.

Dean, I thought you had posted once that you watched the series through 5 or 7 times?

Dean, I thought you had posted once that you watched the series through 5 or 7 times? I’ve seen the first four seasons at least that many times. Maybe twice through season 5 and only once for seasons 6-7 possibly with a few missed episodes.
