I suspect you are talking about the second Hulk movie with Edward Norton. The first one already dispensed the boring lead up like Iron Man had to for those unfamiliar with the characters.

Yes I’m talking about the 2008 version.

I liked the 2008 Hulk as well, actually watched it before the original with Eric Bana. I have yet to see Iron Man 2. I am eagerly waiting for the DVD/BR release later this year.

I haven’t seen “Iron Man 2” either but will rent it. I thought most of “Iron Man” was ok, not great, I just thought that the back-story dragged on way to long.
I don’t think I ever saw the 2003 version of Hulk.

I dont think I ever saw the 2003 version of Hulk.
Jennifer Connelly would be my only reason to watch the '03 Hulk again...I hope they did a better job on the newer version of 'Hulk'(haven't seen).

I actually liked the back-story on Iron Man. I think its what they call 'character development', a stretch for an action movie, I know...

IMO the beginning of “Iron Man” was mostly story development to set up the second half (interesting part for me) of the movie. I noticed little development of the Character in that early part for the amount of time spent on it. I felt a better way to handle it would have been to have him being shown in captivity during the opening credits with the first scene being his escape/rescue then the main storyline could have taken off right from there. Any specifics or pertinent details could then be filled in as the main storyline progressed.
I also feel that in most cases it works better when they develop the character throughout a show rather than try to cram it all in the front and then race off with the story. Makes thing seem to schizophrenic.
I think a movie like “Indiana Jones” gets it right. You learn little memorable quirks about the characters throughout the movie but nothing to deep. If I want deep I’ll watch drama or an action/drama which IMO is best done as a TV series or mini-series to really allow for both action and character depth. Not that action/drama can’t be done I just think very few get it right.
Overall “Iron Man” just didn’t do it for me. Nothing about the movie grabbed my interest or hooked me to make me want to come back, just like “Transformers.” undoubtitly I’ll end up watching “Iron Man 2” as I did while hoping it’s not as bad a sequel as “Transformers 2.”
I know I’m in the minority on “Iron Man” since the Tomato Meter gives it over 90%.

I enjoyed Iron Man more on the first viewing. I find it hard to watch through now.

Friday Night Lights made me cry like a pepper-sprayed baby tonight. I'm such a sucker.

I'm trying out Lie to Me. It's entertaining enough, but it's just another one of those shows. The writing is a little obvious so far, so I'm hoping it gets a little more nuanced over time. It wants to be a smart show, but it gives away too much before it's time, almost beating you over the head with what it's going to do. Still, like I said, entertaining enough.
