I do like how often they use the term "deception leakage" in Lie to Me. It makes me think of the phrase, "lying out your ass."

I just watched the “Toto: Falling in Between Live” Blu-ray. I bought it on the fly today at Fry’s because I had read a good review of it on Blu-ray.com. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Toto-Falling-in-Between-Live-Blu-ray/6852/#ReviewWow! I’m even more impressed with it than the reviewer. You know you like something when you loose all track of time until you suddenly realize that your face hurts from grinning ear to ear for the last 30 or so minutes. I usually prefer studio mixes of songs I’ve always heard that way in the past but this is one exception. Just read the review and then dial it up a notch or two and that would be my impression. The ambience of the hall is perfectly reproduced in the surround speakers. The echoes sound so real it’s like your standing there. Playing this was perfect validation that I’m getting everything dialed in as good as it can get. The only other thing I’ve listened to here in the house was Sean’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” Not even the Blu-ray sampler that came with my Oppo sounds this good and it was done in a studio. Although it might sound cheesy I liked that they gave coloured balloons to the audience and had them throwing them in the air at times. While the colours were already well presented the balloons burst out with all the colours of the rainbow adding some vivid eye candy. If you are a Toto fan this is as good as you will ever hear them sound in concert and if you don’t mind that the songs differ some from the studio versions it’s going to be the best you’ve heard them sound ever.

Occasionally one of the guys at work turns it on saying he really likes it. I tried watching it but found it pretty boring and easy to figure out. I guess being an experience interrogator there’s nothing novel to me about the premise.

Anybody watch the tv series "Twin Peaks"? I start season one next week. I vaguely remember the series. An old girlfriend and my mother used to watch it religiously...I recall not liking it, despite my best efforts to score brownie points with the gf. So far, I've watched the pilot and the first 2 episodes and I'm intrigued by it. This seems to be an interesting series.

I'm finally watching Helvetica and enjoying it. Unlike Chris, I didn't really know anything, so it's more interesting to me.
I liked the quote, "You will do what the typeface wants you to do."

I had my dad watch the pods emerge scene (whatever the actual name of that scene is--I always forget) yesterday, and he liked that a lot. I'll have to sit down and watch the whole thing again sometime soon. Subwoofers are fun.
