I've tried the whole Audyssey thing. Ended up resetting the processor on the AVR. I have auto setup calibration and EQ not in use.
I’m armed and I’m drinking. You don’t want to listen to advice from me, amigo.

Mine is set to off, it makes my system sound dull when it is set to on.

For Marantz (8001 and 8002), I did not like the MultEQ settings.
But when I got the Denon (which has MultEQ XT), I actually preferred it. So now it's on all the time.

Erik, keep in mind that, as I pointed out in the thread where you were buying a new receiver, the 8002 came out about three years ago and doesn't have some of the latest features. This includes the improved Audyssey MultEQ with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.
I keep MultEQ with the Dynamic EQ on at all times since there's at least a small benefit with all program sources that I've tried. About the only change I make is that I sometimes use the Audyssey curve with the slight high frequency roll-off and at other times the Flat curve without the roll-off, depending on the high frequencies present in the source material.

I have mine on, but I modified the settings a bit. (Not the EQ of course, but the speaker levels, and maybe a crossover or two.)

I couldn't get mine to make it sound anything but horribly flat. All the instruments blended together like a badly compressed MP3. Not sure why, but I'm 100% satisfied without it so I stopped playing with it.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.
