Our Home Theater in Progress
I spent all weekend painting, cutting holes in the wall and running wires and cables everywhere. This is where we stand as of today.
Setup: Display - Panasonic P50V10 Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR508 Speakers - Axiom W22 x 2 Axiom W100 Axiom QS4 x 2

Nice and clean, very little clutter, kind of looks like a model home.
I love the on walls so much more than the in walls, add some depth and much better matches the TV!
Looks great!

Great room vic! I think you have room up front for a large screen and bigger speakers! Seriously, very clean set up, congrats.

Any chance you would pass on the brand and color of that paint on the walls?
Thanks

Looking very good and I like how you achieved some seperation of the mains, most always seem to have them right beside the TV.

Thanks It's from the Martha Stewart line and is called "Seal" (Home Depot). I had it mixed as a Behr paint. Thanks guys. I'd love to move to a projector eventually, or at least a 65" plasma. I'm still waiting on projector's to 1) improve input lag for gaming, and 2) come down in price a little.

Really Nice! That's kind of what I'm looking for with my "new" place. Well, the color scheme anyway! Well done Vic

What are the tricks of the trade for passing wires in-wall? and what other wire-hiding options do I have?

Here's some ideas that I have either used are know about.
Drill hole at back of appliance to pass wire(s) into wall. Run wire inside wall down to 1) remove baseboard and cut a hole behind baseboard, then cut an unseen groove in the drywall that the wire will fit in, then reinstall baseboard with wire in this groove, or 2) if unfinished basement, drill a hole at an angle, going down through the wall, through the base plate at the bottom of the floor, all the way through the floor to the basement (need long drill bit), then run wire to basement, across and come up to receiver. Easy in my house because receiver is in a closet. Also could go the other way and run it into attic.
Get flat wire and run it under carpeting.
Not a good idea to pass the electrical cord for power this way. Better way is to install an outlet behind appliance and plug it in this way. One way I've done it is to cut a hole through wall behind TV, about 2 inch hole. then put a piece of PCV pipe of the same size, cut length to fit in hole. then pass all wires, including electrical outout, through this hole.

Cut some crown moulding, run the wires behind it on the surrounds.
