Dean's probably gonna host a party to celebrate.

JohnK can hopefully fill us in on the fine details of what a "work release" is and how they are usually structured.

DH, I rarely check this thread, but I just happened to do so now. I haven't tried to find details of the Schifter sentence, but the most common type of a work-release provision is that the prisoner will be allowed out for his actual hours of work and will return to prison for the remainder of the day. An alternative sometimes used is that he'll be allowed to remain at large during all of a 5-day work week and will be confined during the weekends.

I believe Mr. Schiffler's sentence is the former. 2 years work release, 20 years probation. He's on the hook for around 100k.

Actually I harbor no Ill will toward MLS since I saw him for what he was from day one. My issue has always been with the true believers who spread his gospel through audio forums and sought to stamp out all heretical speech from the nonbelievers.

I would rather see him get off scot-free an see his fanboys serving the sentence for him because they amplified any small amount of damage MLS himself could have done alone. That’s always the real danger with charismatic leaders, the sheep who blindly follow them.

Usually, there's some type of employment already arranged that'll meet the court's requirements. Haven't been following this closely and have no idea if he's had any sort of appropriate work(e.g., Bose salesman?)while out on bail.

AFAIR he would call himself Santa or something for some of his “sales.” So with that and his love of charities you might see him at the mall in a Santa outfit. Tis approaching the season. wink
