I watched the first ten minutes of Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray, but now I'm trying to get some writing accomplished. I can tell it's going to be a fun showcase Blu-ray, though. Thank goodness for Pixar.

My Dad picked up a BD copy of The Pacific and my boys started watching it last night. By the time we got up, they were in the middle of the 2nd disc. I watched a few minutes of one of the episodes and it seemed pretty good. Good LFE, good surround management, good graphics (as in the gory stuff)... what's not to like?

I haven't bought a copy yet, but it's one that I definitely want. I'm sure the audio is amazing if it's up to the quality of Band of Brothers.
Tonight I watched Toy Story 3 and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl with someone I've been talking to online recently. It was our first time meeting. She seems sweet and doesn't mind just chilling and watching stuff, so that's a relief.
I still got choked up at the end of Toy Story 3.
I fell asleep during Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl. I like the face of Vampire Girl, though.

Ha ha, she said it was pretty funny. I didn't know I was funny when I was asleep! Good to know.

Just watched Toy Story 3 for the first time. Really great movie. I shed more tears at the end than I can ever remember a movie getting out of me before. Felt great, and cleansing.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Even though I couldn't crank it, I still had to watch it. The audio was really great in the theater, and I can tell it will be as fun at home when I can turn it up. My coworker is going to come over and watch it sometime, so I'll watch it properly then.

Finally working on the first episodes of Conan. Conan O'Brien, not the Cimmerian. I'm glad they have the full episodes available for online streaming.

Toy Story 3, very good audio and picture even if it was only in SD. I can't imagine it looks/sounds a whole lot better on BR. Some very good LFE in this one too, the sub got a pretty good work out

I watched “Blue Gender” a 26 x 23 minute episode adventure, drams, horror, romance, scifi anime on the Funimation Channel on YouTube. Here’s a review: http://www.themanime.org/viewreview.php?id=486Visually this anime is sub par. The animation is weak with lots of shortcuts and the 1.33:1 format just looks unimpressive. The 2.0 soundtrack is weak with the dialogue sounding muted which results in a rude awakening every time the mid episode commercial pops up. I really started out liking this show despite the typically wimpy male lead at the beginning. Problem is that about half way through the character driven story gives way to mecha dominated battles. When it finally gets around to wrapping things up the ending is rushed and a bit confusing as to what happened in a couple of the main story arcs. Overall I’d only give this a 2 out of 5 though the begging was much better than that. Watching on the Funimation Channel is relatively painless. So far everything I’ve watched has one very short commercial half way through and then a second commercial just before the closing credits so it can be skipped w/o missing any of the show. The Funimation Channel is a great place to check out a series but be careful since very few of them are listed in their entirety. Often 24 of 26 episodes of a season are present and more than half of them are subtitled only but even then one can still get a feel for a show to see if it’s worth ordering from Netflix or Amazon.
