Me too. I already have the theater edition on DVD, and am patiently waiting the blu-ray extended edition.

So, it's Cyber Monday and we blew off Black Friday with no updates to the Deals Thread? How do you guys expect me to fix the economy without your advice?

I'm thinking of getting a new, secondary TV. The 12-year-old RPTV my kids are watching is, well, unwatchable and I don't want to fix the gigantic beast. I'm thinking of a cheapish flat panel.

If you were going to spend NO MORE THAN $500 on a TV, what would you get? I don't think there is a substitute for "big", and I've seen 40-42" 1080p LCD's from Toshiba, Vizio and Hannspree in that range.

Whaddya got?

Perousing Sam's Club today uncovered some TV's in that price range and they all seem to look good today. When I compare qualities, in like styles (ie LCD vs LCD), I have a hard time seeing any difference.

Tom, this one was rated a "Best Buy" in the size category in the December issue of Consumer Reports.

The complete Battlestar Galactica Series is Amazons deal of the day....

I know there are a few fans here.

I've been waiting for that for a long time. But, today I've got exactly $15.

If you have an extra 30 bucks, an even better option would be to get the newer Panasonic 42" S2 which can be had for $532 from 6Ave.com with coupon code AFL3. While slightly over the $500 mark since there is no tax or shipping cost I assume it would be cheaper than walking into a retail store and buying a $500 set+tax
