I'm going with "Yum".
Hey, this is as good a place as any to recap my recent Dinner-with-Dan (!!).
We went to Brouwer's Cafe in Seattle (Ken can attest to it's unbridled Belgian awesomeness). Had some great beers, lovely food and fantastic conversation. I'm really grateful to Dan for making time to get together, and I look forward to "next time".
I drank Duchesse de Bourgogne, Full Sail Wassail Cask and an Imperial Stout from Firestone Walker. All were splendid! My water buffalo carbonnade on frites was delicious.
Dan is even cooler and smarter in person than he seems on the boards, if that is possible. I wish I was that "together" when I was his age. Few things are as invigorating and as precious to me as making new friends, and the Axiom community continues to provide so many joyful moments.
Cheers!!

Thanks tom! It was a great time. Great hearing some NW tips from an old pro of the area . Oh, and Full Sail beer. I'm checking them out now... I liked the Imperial Stout the best. Tom proclaimed "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" after the first sip.

Brouwer's is awesome. Hopefully we'll be able to go there again in a few months, Tom. Nothing worked out yet...

I enjoyed Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball last night. Deep copper color, very boozy. Enough hops for balance but not enough to be very assertive. Changed A LOT as it warmed. Always enjoyable and recommended.

I had a glass of my homebrew IPA. It has changed a lot over the months since I brewed it in early November. I only put about 4 to 6 bottles into the fridge at a time, so they continue to "mature" in the closet. Each bottle is better than the last. I think I've only got six more 12oz bottles and maybe four 22oz bottles of this left. But not to worry! I've got 5 gallons of porter finishing up in the fermenter now. Will probably bottle it on Sunday. I have a good feeling about this one.

I've just been assigned beer tour duty by a friend when he comes to DC on business in April. I can't wait.
