dragon age 2 demo is alright... the game seems much more "actiony" and less "RPGy" then the first one. Perhaps this is due to it being a demo and not having full access to inventory, shops, exploring the world, etc.
Overall, I would say the first one is better but that is only based on the demo play of dragon age 2.

Geez, I need to get back to Dragon Age. There don't seem to be enough hours in the day lately.

Dragon Age 2 will be more actiony, but still very much an RPG at heart. I have it, but am still working through Origins.
I played DA: Origins until 7:30 AM (well, there was a DST change so it was only 6:30). Got the three main quests to deliver the treatise done. Now I'm picking up side quests that I missed. But nearing the end game now.
Still have Awakenings, Golems, and Witch Hunt to finish before I go on to DA:2.

Yeah, I need to finish dragon age: orgins as well. I think I will pop it in. I'm about 45 hours in or so, should be nearing the end I think.

Any of the MMO players here tried "Rift" yet? I was a beta tester when I found the time and ended up buying it.
Nothing revolutionary in it except the ability to significantly change your characters special abilities (within your main calling) on the fly by changing "souls" verses being stuck in the same build your whole career. Interesting concept I wasn't sure I would like but I am enjoying it. Makes it easier to form more successful small groups.
The Rift invasions and the constant invasions by the the opposing faction (mostly AI but sometimes by invasions of actual players) works pretty well to keep the world feeling 'alive'.
I started playing DragonAge II after Christmas. I liked it but didn't find the time to get too deep in.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

How were you playing Dragon Age II after Christmas when it was released last week? Confusing it with another game?

I played “Dragon Age: Origins” all day yesterday. I was starting to get a little pissed of at my NPCs doing stupid things but I think I’ve figured out what was wrong with the orders I was giving them. I also wish it did a better job of showing quest markers like “Mass Effect” but I’m learning to cope. Otherwise I’m really getting into the game now that my party isn’t getting wiped out every encounter and I’m getting use to navigating my way around the screen better. I’m sure I’ll just get use to this version and then find they changed everything in DA: 2.
One thing I can’t figure out that is really pissing me off is that some, not all the time, when the character I’m controlling either kills or stuns an enemy instead of switching to the nearest enemy or beating down the one on the ground he just starts running off straight ahead. It’s almost like the input on the controller is stuck the way computer joysticks would get if you didn’t run them through the calibration routine. Guess I could dig up one of my other controllers and see if that fixes it.

It may be that the character has targeted another enemy and is running to go engage them.
My mages and archers don't do that, but I've noticed warriors, and especially dagger wielding rogues like to take random sprints at times. Manually selecting a nearer target makes them stop.

It may be that the character has targeted another enemy and is running to go engage them.
That was the first thing I though of so I let him just go and he runs forward with a slight right arc every time until he hit’s a wall. If he runs into any enemy he doesn’t engage unless attacked. As far as I can tell only the character I’m controlling does this. My mages and archers don't do that, but I've noticed warriors, and especially dagger wielding rogues like to take random sprints at times. Manually selecting a nearer target makes them stop.
I’ve mainly been controlling only my warrior unless I need something specific from the mage but I’ll see if it makes a difference. I’ve used the switch target feature with mixed results. It mostly seems to work but occasionally he runs over to the nearest chest or selectable object so I’ve resorted to turning him manually with the controller. It’s mostly only annoying now when I have a good choke point set up and he sprints out of the doorway into the middle of a room full of enemies both getting surrounded and letting some of them by to attack my Mage and Archer. However, I have been able to mitigate the latter by using talents to get the enemy pissed enough to come back and target me the “Tank.”

The rogue in my party is the one that tried to assassinate me early in the game. I went against my better judgment and let him join my party instead of killing him since I missed the other rogue in the game. I really needed someone to pick locks so I asked him to join my party...
That ungrateful sonnuva bitch attacked me with a bunch of his outlaw friends yesterday and I had to kill them all. Now I'm without a rogue...
