Saturday was my beeriest day in a
really long time. A couple homebrewer buddies hosted a beer BBQ. It was mostly people from work with their significant others, and a few kids, including my own. There was a smoker on the premises and plenty of pork ribs and jumbo chicken wings for all. Not to mention jambalaya, spaghetti pie, pecan pie, and my many sides.
On to the beer! Two kegs of homebrew -- one a pilsner, one a 12.5% Belgian tripel -- many bottles of homebrew -- my own brown ale, ginger beer, oak-aged imperial stout, oyster stout, and more -- not to mention all the commercial beer people brought. Then there was the Jaegermeister and some kind of high-proof Hungarian apricot schnapps that was actually quite smooth...
I also partook of a very nice Dutch cigar -- I did make sure it was only filled with completely legal leaves.
I was feeling fine all day. Even felt fine on the drive home -- I was a passenger. Only a few hours after I got home did the full weight of all I had enjoyed come home to roost...
I'll spare you the rest of this story.
