My coworker just read the book, too, so I'm going to the movie with her. Maybe I'll read the book after seeing the movie, and then we'll compare how we view both.

Kung Fu Panda 2
Pretty good. Overall, it was comparable to the first, but there were some weird moments that felt a little hollow, like they weren't quite finished. In the writing, not in the animation. The art was gorgeous, just like the first one was. Definitely a showcase Blu-ray.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Yes, the new American David Fincher version. I hadn't read the book or watched the Swedish film, so it was all fresh for me. I enjoyed it. David Fincher is such an artist when it comes to the look and feel of the movies he makes and how it all moves. Really impressive just as a study on how to do that. The story kept me engaged, too. I'll be watching the sequels. Not sure yet whether I'm going to try out the books, but it's possible.

It's very detailed and precise.

Oh man, I only have that on video. It's pretty cool, though. He's also good in Doctor Who: The Curse of Fatal Death, which was a Xmas special that came out before the new DWs started.

I finally watched David Mamet's The Spanish Prisoner over the last couple of nights. I fell asleep the first night and had to finish yesterday. Not his best work. I actually like his dialogue a a lot of the time, even with the annoying repetition, but this one didn't work quite as well for me. The con was also way too convoluted. It was impossible to take seriously, and it wasn't enjoyable enough to let the ridiculousness go.
